Currently sipping one of the two cups of coffee I’m likely to drink between now and the end of the year 😎:coffee:
so strong the spoon will stand up by itself
A professor of mine, eons ago when I was still at university, said he can’t drink coffee unless it’s strong enough to float a crowbar. I like strong coffee also, but…yikes 😮

I do like the occasional espresso. No cream, no sugar, no spoon necessary.

I want mine strong enough to wash my windshield, and black as Gorbachev’s soul . . .

Oh you’re a brave soul. (You too @dochawk.) I tried that once in college (drinking espresso the traditional way). Now I understand why they serve it in those tiny cups 😬.

Here, if you ask for coffee in any establishment that serves it you get an espresso. That’s what “coffee” means in France. You get used to it 😇

You can often get something closer to what is the norm in the US by ordering “American coffee,” but it’s still stronger than what most restaurants and cafés serve in the US (though nowhere near as strong as espresso).

I had to learn about French culture for my French class in college. I learned that there (my professor was from the UK but had lived in Bordeaux and Paris).

@Irishmom2, I guess no one has drank any coffee for the last three days. Act quick or they’ll drink tea.

I answer that coffee is essential to the virtues, being only under charity and humility

Don’t worry; I did have some coffee earlier. I’m just running low, is all.

Brewing (or bringing) coffee is one of the corporal works of mercy.

how will I take it today

This is my rationale for daily and frequent coffee consumption. 2016 study found that at least 3cups of coffee per day can help keep senile dementia away!! The older I get the more coffee I need to keep my cognitive functioning running smoothly! :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:👵

No, it isn’t. You can find out why by reading some of the responses. Please do NOT joke around about that.

When I was little, my parents would make espresso for their guests and add a shot of sambuca. It’s called a “Caffe Corretto”

I don’t like it at all. 🤢

I made the mistake of having authentic Irish coffee once. It turns out I do not like it at all.

Coffee’s ready!
