Chocolate has caffeine, but not as much as coffee. Caffeine helps most people with migraines.

Dark chocolate also has magnesium, which is a natural muscle relaxant (too much Mg will give you loose stools but that’s about it). Magnesium (E-Z Mg from Standard Process) is the only thing I take to help me sleep. @Convert3 had some good points too.

how old people here were when you started drinking coffee
I was probably around 13 when I had my first cup of coffee. I remember it was Nabob instant at a friend’s house. It was okay. We never had coffee at home as both my parents were dedicated tea drinkers, which is what I still drink myself. Normally I consume about 4 to 6 cups of tea a day, however, on weekends, first thing in the morning I like a large mug of decaff coffee with coffeemate and sugar. I let the grounds sit in the the water overnight and bring them to a boil in the morning. Let sit for two minutes and all the grounds sink to the bottom. By afternoon, though, I’m ready for a full pot of tea.

Remember Anacin? That’s what my mother took for headaches. It was aspirin and caffeine.

Chocolate also contains phenylethylamine a mood elevator that our bodies also produces when we are involved in a romantic encounter. It stimulates the production of endorphins those feel good hormones. I read about this in the '80s in a book called “Mind Matters” by Dr. Michael Gazzaniga. It’s how our mind and brain interacts. Yes I still have the book and yes I looked it up! Couldn’t recall all of the specifics but remembered there was a chemical we secreted when were in love. Also it was the reason why we crave chocolate. Chocoholic anyone?

You know why it’s called Starbucks, right?
I don’t! 🤔
Because when you pay the bucks ($$), you see stars ⭐🌠⭐🌠⭐! 😁

@Irishmom2. Ha!! I had to do a double take on this iconography. Very good but I am not that well off enough to visit his $hrine. Mea culpa!

My son and daughter-in-law both work at Starbucks. My son at the Seattle HQ and my DIL as a store manager. So I bought their stock many years ago and now the dividends more than pay for any money I ever spend at Starbucks. Until the past two weeks, the stock had increased quite a bit in value too…the the virus hit.

I used to have severe headaches, whilst they have never completely went away, caffeine does help with them and they are less severe.

I sadly know people that will take that WAY too seriously. Funny though.

I drink both tea and coffee. Sometimes I drink more tea. Mainly when out of coffee.

Yes, I know they will. They would really hate the image of “St. Mattis” then, which I will not post here as it has nothing to do with coffee, and which only Marines will understand.

New Hampshire Motto or Gadsden flag? My T-shirt.
