Coffee or coffee? The answer is Coffee!

…and it tastes about the same to me. I get a bitter aftertaste from it. Not an overly strong one but there…and I don’t like that! Anyone else notice it?

It depends on where the beans are from or what blend. Some are better than others.

To me, a boomer is a male kangaroo. I’m not sure you should give kangaroos coffee.
somewhere, we have a 45 of “Six White Boomers” that my uncle sent back from his time in Australia–they were pulling Santa’s sleigh . . .
I certainly do, but I also don’t drink it because I don’t like Starbucks. I’m not knocking people that do, I’ve just never acquired a taste for it.
I doubt that it’s any better or worse than any other badly burnt and overroasted coffee, but I find it undrinkable.

They did it like that to reach out to uneducated palates with the impression of “strong”–and now, much as they’d probably like to get away and instead sell good coffee, they’re stuck inflicting heavy damage on their product . . .

(yes, I roast my own, but haven’t gotten to it in several years)

[also, I think the coffee there is objectively inferior to what you get for a dollar elsewhere]
Ya know, as one whom has suffered from migraines, I can tell you for certain that dark chocolate does sometimes help a bad headache.
I have a Mexican rose that must be well over 100 years old; an elderly friend who has since passed planted it in my yard, and his grandmother brought it when she immigrated.

Anyway, unlike our typical roses, it flowers once a year for a while (now), rather than continually, and is a folk remedy for migraines.

I was skeptical, but gave a few flowers to an assistant who was prone to migraines (and with no promises!),and she came back a few days amazed–a tea of the petals knocked out her migraine in half the time of any medication she’d ever tried!
and I don’t like that! Anyone else notice it?
Pete’s is also badly burnt. I don’t recall having tried Seattle’s best, but it would surprise me to find the same about it.

When I got to college, I tried coffee, full of sugar and creme, because it was supposed to keep us alert or some such. I wasn’t impressed.

Then one day at work, we were at a Bullwinkles wiring our system into their video games, and they brought us coffee. It seemed rude to ask for the add-ons, so I drank it – and discovered that I like coffee, when it doesn’t have that gunk in in it!

So these days, I want as black as Gorbochev’s soul (and strong enough to wash my windshield).

While I like and prefer better coffee, the biggest difference is between 100% arabica, and not 100%.

the only legitimate use for robusta is in small quantities to help espresso foam . . .

I used to use a vacuum pot in my office, similar to this one:

I heard they use it badly burnt because that kind of coffee flavors well and that is really what they are selling flavored drinks. anyone know if this is true. the guy who told me was a barista from another company and a purist. yet, he drank costco coffee.

the burnt gets lost in the foo-foo triple whacko-frappo thingies. You might not even notice if they forgot the coffee in those  😱

We used to pick up pure arabica from Costco; it was fine. It certainly beats starbucks/petes

Sure, betters available, but not burnt and robusta free is more than adequate for household use. (Unlike this Goose Island IPA next to me . . . yeah, it’s recognizable as such, but no-one will mistake it for a craft beer. It’s only reason for existence is to protect Bush taps from having their swill replaced with real beer . . . but in an unthinking moment, I grabbed a case on special in a moment of “I’ve never seen that other than on tap before” last weekend)

i tried goose island on a BOGO and won’t repeat that mistake again

I could really go for a cup of cafe mocha with mint and extra chocolate right now.

That’s why I haven’t had coffee in weeks. I usually take mine with cream or half and half. I used to put in 2 packets of sugar but +Mom helped me wean myself off sugar. Now the only time I use sugar (i.e. Sugar in the Raw) is when the coffee is really strong.

The gas station I go to has Green Mountain coffee. I wonder if they still do with this crisis going on.

My grocery store got some in two days ago and I bought three bags! I’m good for a week or so…
😅😅😅

Remember Anacin?
Yes, I do. I wonder if it’s still made anymore.

TBH, I haven’t taken any Anacin, aspirin/NSAIDs in 20+ years. I’ve worked at a family-owned health food store for 20+ years and learned a lot about nutrition. That’s why I don’t do Anacin or NSAIDs any more.
