He was talking about persuing and trying to (dirty euphemism for have intercourse) with a married woman. That’s not adultery?

Of course he was joking. Liberals just don’t want to admit it, I guess.

Her jokes were “a bit barbed”??? Some of them were as foul as foul gets, and you’re giving her a pass because it was “unnecessary”? Maybe I have lived among better women than many, and expect too much, but I will not put up with the “f” word or the “p” word among my employees or clientele for any reason…ever. Maybe they use them in private conversation, and if so, that’s none of my business. But in public? Never. I would fire an employee or eject a client for that if they did it publicly in my office.

I expect it is a “tempest in a teapot” in a way, since probably the only witnesses to it were liberals. But it was still a public event.

No. He said a person could. He never said he did it personally. And if the other party consents (which is what he was talking about) it’s certainly not assault. Read his comments again. You’ll find that he did use crude language (which was off-putting because he did it so poorly, if nothing else) but he never said he did those things himself or did anything like it when he was married. The worst thing he said about his own conduct was that he kissed women.

“Good points?” What good points did she make? That Sara Sanders burned papers to make her eye shadow with? That a woman comedian is preferable because she wouldn’t (masturbate, but the colloquial was used) during her presentation? That it would be good if a tree fell on Maryanne Conway? Comparing Trump’s leaving the Paris Accords to a sexual act?

No. It’s just amusing to watch the liberals on here scramble to excuse all the “f” and “p” and “j-o” talk and sexual innuendo in public after pretending for all these months that they were righteously indignant over things Trump said in private.

I’m not a Republican, but I get accused of it all the time on CAF, and I would readily admit it. She was trying to be funny in a mean and vulgar sort of way. But the mean and vulgar were very much the dominant characteristics. I heard that the laughter sort of died out after a bit of it and she chided the audience for it. So perhaps even that liberal crowd didn’t think it was all that funny to hear a woman try to imitate the most vulgar guy in a locker room.

Oh no, I’m not trying to imply you’re a Republican. Just that dismissing something one person says as a “joke” can be done by both sides, it’s not partisan.

I don’t know, I haven’t watched it, but I read the transcript. But I think she was “Trump funny” - saying things that are inappropriate at best and having them dismissed as a joke.
 
Those who are feigning outrage should remember that this was a roast. By a comedian.
 
The first part of his Billy Bush tape he talked about aggressively persuing a married woman.

He took her furniture shopping and tried to f*** her. She was married. He said she was married.

He was married and Melania was pregnant while he was talking about this.

And now we know what other skuzzy things he was doing around that time.

Was he joking? Didn’t sound like it to me. But that’s a judgment call. As I said, Trump was a regular in the gossip pages of the local papers. We were used to his act.

As to “liberals just don’t want to admit it,” come on. That’s clutching at straws. I could just as easily say that conservatives can’t take a joke, so they’re all bent out of shape about Wolfs comic routine. And I seriously doubt that the only witnesses were liberals. There were plenty of Republicans at that dinner, and now everyone in the country has seen it.

And if you’d fire someone for that kind of language, or eject them from your office, well, then, I guess you wouldn’t have the president in your office, would you?

But those are supposed to singe a bit but be witty. It’s not witty to just repeat the “f” and “p” and “j-o” words. It just isn’t. And possibly that’s why the laughter died if, indeed, it did. I didn’t watch the thing myself, just heard that the laughter pretty much stopped at a point and she got on the audience about that.

You know, (a) I said the language was inappropriate, and (b) I don’t think you’ve ever seen a lot of indignation, righteous or otherwise, over Trump’s language from me.

So “the liberals on here” haven’t been pretending anything. Some may have been. Some may have been genuinely offended. But this “the liberals” stuff is just handwaving everything you don’t like away.

In fact, t was the Trump fans who tried to deflect from the misogynist content of his words and pass it off merely as bad language and locker room talk.

In the same way that they try deflect from mainstreaming consorting with pron workers by palming it off merely as a consensual affair.

You guys are obsessed with Trump. Did you used to date him? Because you pretend like you hate him, but I think you love him. I think what no one in this room wants to admit is that Trump has helped all of you. He couldn’t sell steaks or vodka or water or college or ties or Eric, but he has helped you.

He’s helped you sell your papers and your books and your TV. You helped create this monster, and now you’re profiting off of him. And if you’re gonna profit off of Trump, you should at least give him some money because he doesn’t have any.

There are some liberals on here of whom I think well despite their support of the party of you-know-what.

I readily acknowledge that not all liberals went into righteous mode over Trump’s language.

A lot of them, anyway. Some were fairly up front about it, and said, in effect, yes, the guy is a creep, but we’ll take it just so we get the Supreme Court picks, but many defended, and still defend, every word that comes out of his mouth.

It really is, for some, a cult of personality. Amazing. I never thought that could happen here in the US.
