If you reference the Qur’an, Q9:5, concerning pagans who do not believe, it comes down to convert or die. Q9:25 concerning Christians and Jews; Beleive as we do and convert, die or live in subjection. How would you interpret that?

I would like to add to the above comment that we will find people of peace and those of violence in all religions…

As it was originally intended. If one studies then how it was intended will be clear. This thread not about that subject.

To Jesus, our Lord and God, we must listen.🙂

And the Islamic Truth equivalent is…? :hmmm:

It would be a stern warning not to make multiple of God.

“Your God is but one God. There is no god other than Him, Compassionate and Merciful. In the creation of the heavens and the earth, in the alternation of night and day, in the ships that ply the seas to the benefit of man, in the water sent down from the heavens to revive the earth after its death, in the different species of animals scattered across the earth, in the rotation of the winds, in the clouds that are subordinate to God’s command between heaven and earth, in all of this, there are signs for men who use their intellects.” (2:163-164)

“He is God, the One other than Whom there is no god, the knower of the hidden and the manifest, the Compassionate, the Merciful. He is God, the One other than Whom there is no god, the Commander, the All-powerful, Pure and Without Defect, the Bestower of Safety, the Protector, the Precious, the Mighty, the Sublime, the Most Elevated. Exempt and purified be He from the partners which they ascribe to Him.”(59:22-23)

"Have the ignorant polytheists abandoned the true God and chosen, instead, the false and powerless gods? Tell them: ‘Bring forth your proof!’ This call of mine to unity is my saying and that of all the learned men of the community, as well as the saying of all the Prophets and learned men before me. But these polytheists have no knowledge of the truth and constantly avert themselves from it. (21:24)

I would also add the following to Tony’s informative post above:
A Bedouin came to the prophet, grabbed the stirrup of his camel and said: O the messenger of God! Teach me something to go to heaven with it. Prophet said: “As you would have people do to you, do to them; and what you dislike to be done to you, don’t do to them. Now let the stirrup go! [This maxim is enough for you; go and act in accordance with it!]”
— Kitab al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 146
“None of you [truly] believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.”
— An-Nawawi’s Forty Hadith 13 (p. 56)
And from the Quran:
“…and you should forgive And overlook: Do you not like God to forgive you? And Allah is The Merciful Forgiving.”
— Quran (Surah 24, “The Light”, v. 22)
“Woe to those… who, when they have to receive by measure from men, they demand exact full measure, but when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due”
— Quran (Surah 83, “The Dealers in Fraud”, vv. 1–4)
ِAheb li akheek ma tuhibu li nafsik.

A Muslim and a Christian is one that Follows the Word of the book without transgression.

A name is not a right, it is earned. A thistle can call itself a Rose, bit it is always a thistle.

Can you sayTsarnaev?

am I not allowed to decide who I choose to fear- being concerned for my own safety and that of my family? we all process information and have survival instincts. I won’t walk alone at night in a bad neighborhood. I won’t be visiting Syria, Iraq, Libya, Nigeria in the near future. I probably won’t be planning any trips to Europe soon. I also plan to stay out of Mexico.
Adrian Monk: Blenders

Dr. Bell: Well, if you don’t own a blender …

I see Muslims as good people with a beautiful culture and a rich language. They have beautiful things like Persian carpets and samovars and they are very hospitable and kind. And their food is delicious.

Can you sayTsarnaev?
Your motive for this? Thistles.

I also see every Muslim following the Words of Muhammad as in the Koran as I would see a practicing Christian. Good people of whom no fear is seen.

Consider all that transgress what their Book has told them are not true followers and have no right to the name.

Consider the silent killers, those that destroy lives from abuse within a system of belief. Just as bad but do not get the press as much, sometimes swept under the carpet for years. They also have no right to the name they profess.

Perfect love casts out fear.
Maybe you should stop watching corporate controlled news media which traffics in fear.
There is also wisdom in the fear of the LORD.

We always gonna look for scapegoats? Are you saying this is all media frenzied? How bout the independent websites that can back the claims?

The article traffics in “facts” at the same time as it ignores realities. The United States is unique precisely because the relative numbers of Muslims are small. The Middle East is far more indicative of the reality of Islam than the U.S. Europe is also more of an indicator since it is reaching what could be called “critical mass” in terms of numbers of Muslims in the population.

The article uses the current state to argue all possible future states as if no matter how the relative numbers of Muslims in the U.S. changes, there will be no noticeable consequences as a result. We have no reason for thinking this to be true. This is like arguing that oxygen is a stable and benign gas. Sure it is at lower concentrations, but it becomes highly reactive and dangerous at critical density. Judging by the rest of the world (and not merely the U.S. experience) we ought to know what to expect and there is no reason to think the situation will be different on American soil – unless you subscribe to some form of magic dirt theory.

Verifiable facts and statistics only hold given certain other facts – they don’t hold indefinitely. Try reading the source documents from Islam to get a better sense of the facts behind the rise of Islam. Muslims after all are “Muslim” BECAUSE they subscribe to Islamic doctrines and beliefs. Go to the source.

It is pointless arguing about “Muslims” as if there can be some academic separation between the belief system to which Muslim’s subscribe and Muslim believers. The separation only holds when no attempt is made to understand what it is that Muslims actually do believe. Then it becomes a shell game of hiding certain unmentionables because “not all Muslims” believe that. What, precisely, is it that all Muslims believe, then? What is it that makes them Muslim to begin with? That Muhammad is the Prophet and the Qur’an is the final word of God on everything? Yes and THAT entails what precisely?

This article is a very good one to put things into perspective, especially what the Church’s view on Islam entails with regard to accepting it as an Abrahamic religion:

And these

pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/11/17/5-facts-about-the-muslim-population-in-europe/

sofmag.com/gun-sales-for-self-defense-spike-in-france-austria-and-germany-while-illegal-guns-flow-to-criminals/

Tho you may find the second link biased due to it being a pro gun website, interestingly never once is Muslim mentioned, but migrant is. But we would assume them to be Muslim. Why is that? Political correctness? Islamophobia?

All that I read was what shows in the post. The examples are not appropriate. It is true that lady bugs are not harmful to humans(but are to aphyds). But it is not true that no muslims are harmful to the U.S. or any other non-muslim country. That is proven daily in the newspaper.😦
In short: “More than half of Americans are as ignorant and frightened about the world around them as I was about ladybugs when I was five and for roughly the same reasons.”

http://forums.catholic-questions.org/picture.php?albumid=2053&pictureid=15055

This has got to be the worst argument I have ever read defending any position whatsoever.
I heard that ladybugs bite. Tho I have not yet been bitten does it mean that they don’t? And to back your argument for the Muslim population growing in another post, if there were 10,000 ladybugs in a house, they still would not even fill a closet. I think. But it would certainly be a concern now, if not dangerous.

Maybe a perspective to consider is that Jesus had two natures, a human and a Divine nature.

Could it be possible that in a climate of polytheism and idol worship, introducing another divinity into the picture might be unwise?

Is it possible that Muhammad’s focus to the idol worshippers was to convey an Invisible God superior to all the visible ones already known? And to focus solely on the human nature of Himself and Jesus?

Muhammad brought millions of idol worshippers out of sin and into a correct relationship with a Supreme Godhead.

.
The problem here is you said “a” supreme godhead. It should be the supreme GOD. I know, picky picky.

…proving my point that Christianity and Islam are mutually exclusive belief-systems that cannot both be revelations of the same God. As a result, Christians must believe that Islam is not “of God.” It follows that Christians must believe that Islam is a delusion that keeps people separated from Jesus Christ and his Church. We must therefore do everything we can to evangelize Muslims, draw them out of their delusion, and lead them to the Truth. Of course, there may be aspects of Islam that are good, true and beautiful but the Islamic faith is predicated on the denial that Jesus Christ is God; therefore, it cannot be “good.”
,

Amen Don. Dunno what he got banned for, but it couldn’t have been this.

Muslims believe in one God, almighty, creator, etc.

Daily prayer is part of their faith.

Almsgiving (care for the needy) is basic to their faith.

They got that much right. I think they worship the same God.
JESUS is LORD. And GOD.

That’s not really relevant to my post, but the denial of the slaughters and genocides committed by the followers of Moses in the OT is baffling.

Did Moses have a relationship with the Supreme Godhead?

.
Moses saw GOD. At least a little of Him. Do you know why Moses has no grave?

Judaism teaches the same thing as Islam

Is Judaism not of God too?

.
Judaism also uses the word ELOHIM, plural for ELOHA, or possibly where Allah was derived from. Islam has no plural if I am correct in that assumption.

Hi everyone,

Everywhere I go, on every form I visit and anyone I talk to I say love all humanity with all your heart for all of us are God’s children created in His image.

There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world.

When I tried to divide the number of possible terrorists my calculator could not give a percentage so low is it.

God is no respecter of persons. He loves all His children whether they be Christian, Jew Muslim or otherwise.and I choose to follow His example.

There is nothing to fear in Muslims unless one watches the media everyday highlighting an ‘islamic’ crime. Does anyone ever ask why these stories are so newsworthy when there are millions of children under 10 who die each year from preventable diseases? Why the prejudice and deliberate focus on negative things about Muslims? Who’s behind it? I bet I know.

Muslims, Catholics aetheists are all my brothers and no media is going to turn me against them or make me fear a lovely, beautiful race of people who have contributed so much to humanity. I love the Quran, Muhammad and all Muslims and people of all faiths and none and so does God.
So it is all completely conspiracy? It could be stories like this, and the stupid excuses we make for tis kind of behavior.

woundedamericanwarrior.com/norway-three-year-old-boy-gang-raped-by-muslim-cockroaches-at-asylum-center/

You will have to excuse the perps being called Muslim cockroaches, but whoever allegedly did it, if anyone, is worthy of cockroach and worse. I will add another link or two. Here is two silly quotes from this story:

‘There’s no single cultural code to say what is good or bad behaviour because we want a free society,’ she said.

‘There has to be tolerance for attitudes that may be seen as immoral by some traditional or religious norms.’

Seriously? Tolerance? Religious norms? Whose?

Here is article saying police aren’t sure about it for to be fair, but the fear is here unfortunately.
thelocal.no/20160114/norway-police-suspicion-of-rape-of-3-year-old-weakened

There are all sorts of reports of women being sexually assaulted in the EU. Media again? Or is it that the migrants are no longer sheltered by the laws of their countries? That women are much more scantily clad in Europe than in Muslim countries would be an understatement. Add a bunch of horned up young men with no respect of women, and we have a recipe for disaster. We shall see if this keeps happening in the future.
