a quotation from a bahai, "Jesus would be very sad at seeing His Revelation being downgraded to fight for the trophy of the ReligiousBowl. He came to bring LOVE. To free us from prejudice nothing else. It’s making s mockery of Jesus sacrifice not to embrace and love all religions as He would want peace and love to reign in humanity not this childish competition between faiths for number one spot."

why does the person who wrote this believe that it is a loving act to allow a person to live their lives believing false teachings?

as for the statement that, “Jesus came to free us from prejudice, nothing else.”, this directly contradicts what Jesus said and did?

why does the person who wrote this believe that love requires ignoring another person’s errors when instead we could share the truth with those in error?

Jesus was explicit about Love. To love him, beyond father, mother, brother or sister. Otherwise we are not worthy of him. What did he ask Peter? Do you love me.

What did Jesus say to his disciples? The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me. So, does that mean we should not love the poor?

So Jesus is not first in your life. That is materialism.

MJ
Dear Martin - It has been adequately explained that Jesus to us is the First in Our Life. We make no different between the Prophets, but to accept they gave a message suited to the Age.

At the same time they are all the First and the Last. Thus when we say we Love Jesus, we say we Love all the Messengers that can be seen in Jesus, when we extol Baha’u’llah we extol Jesus exactly the same amount at the same time.

We see no Difference in them, they are all One from the same Source our One and Only God.

The Teachings of Baha’u’llah would have to be the most non materialistic writings that are in existence, as this subject has been explained in great detail. In fact we have been greatly warned about this pernicious influence and non have regarded as to how deep it has gone. I pray you and I and all find out.

“I earnestly exhort you: let not your hearts be fettered by the material things of this world; I charge you not to lie contentedly on the beds of negligence, prisoners of matter, but to arise and free yourselves from its chains”! (Abdu’l-Bahá, Paris Talks, p. 37)

“O ye loved ones of God! Know ye that the world is even as a mirage rising over the sands, that the thirsty mistaketh for water. The wine of this world is but a vapour in the desert, its pity and compassion but toil and trouble, the repose it proffereth only weariness and sorrow. Abandon it to those who belong to it”. (Abdu’l-Bahá, Selections from the Writings of Abdu’l-Bahá, p. 186)

Interesting.

I have a question, if you don’t mind -

Was this goal of Jesus successful? “Jesus came that humanity might be free. Free from wars, hatred and prejudice.”

Please explain.

Thank you and take care,

mike
Thanks ffg,

All humanity could be living in peace under Jesus’s Shelter if His followers remained united. That goes for the followers of all faiths not just Christians. Religion is meant to bring love and unity not wars and estrangement. However, they did not and gradually Christ’s message of love one another became discarded in all excerpt theory with sect vs sect and wars between the followers. Had it not been so the Kingdom of God on earth would have been established long ago.

We need to focus on brotherhood and love for all. To embrace and love all as Jesus taught and make this world another world. Jesus did not come for Himself but for us all. He wanted us to focus on humanity selflessly not be concerned about our own exaltation or importance.

Let us ensure that His suffering and sacrifice be not in vain and carry on His works of love to all regardless of faith, nationality and race. So we must love all the Jews, the Muslims the Hindus and Buddhist for they are all fellow human beings created by the One God.

Religion must become a force for good and love and unity once again or it is of no use to humanity. It must make brothers of all humankind or it is best for the waste paper basket.

For the sake of humanity our religions need to come together and reconcile our differences and work hand in hand for the betterment of humanity, to end wars and make this world the Kingdom.

The poor are His Trust

O Ye Rich Ones on Earth! The poor in your midst are My trust; guard ye My trust, and be not intent only on your own ease. – Hidden Words, Persian 54

Know ye that the poor are the trust of God in your midst. Watch that ye betray not His trust, that ye deal not unjustly with them and that ye walk not in the ways of the treacherous. Ye will most certainly be called upon to answer for His trust on the day when the Balance of Justice shall be set, the day when unto every one shall be rendered his due, when the doings of all men, be they rich or poor, shall be weighed. – Gleanings, 251

Yet to be poor in all save God is a wondrous gift, belittle not the value thereof, for in the end it will make thee rich in God. We all have a massive job ahead of us. The revivification and spiritual resuscitation of our world. Humanity is bowed down with trouble, sorrow and grief and lost in the wilderness of selfishness and lust.

Only a very strong and potent elixir from God can ever hope to revive it. And we cannot do it separately. Out of compassion and love for our warring world we must come together as one and unitedly win people back to God.

If people see we are condemning one another, disunited and having wars amongst ourselves will they ever listen? No! Never!

Only the song of love and universal friendship and ‘unconditional love for all’ can ever hope to bring back the lost sheep. Anything but pure love and world brotherhood amongst us will not work, for people have grown tired of religious disputes and conflicts and seen that as proof that we worship no God but the God of ego and self.

I believe the pendulum will swing back to God if we all focus, out of our love and compassion for humanity, as Jesus did, on them not ourselves, on their spiritual revival not our self importance.

Jesus message was to spread love. He died on the cross and sacrificed everything that we might know love amongst ourselves. Let’s encourage unity between religions instead of condemnation, working together instead of aloofness and division and I’m sure the Holy Spirit will reward us by making this world a beautiful place as Jesus envisioned, free from war and hatred.

there is no love in telling others that Jesus did not rise His physical body from the grave and leave the tomb empty. that is the opposite of love.

there is no love in telling others that God is not Three Persons in One Being.

there is no love in telling others that God did not love us so much that He would take on our human nature and subject that nature to the effects of this sinful world.

there is not love in telling others that heaven does not await them but instead their unique personalities are eliminated by being subsumed into God.

all of these are errors and deprive people of the truth.

Thanks for the reply worldcitizen,

I sure get what I ordered with ‘explain’ eh?!

I hope you don’t mind more questions. Correct me if I’m wrong, but in summary, I see -

So, Jesus’ effort **was not **successful specific to -

“Jesus came that humanity might be free. Free from wars, hatred and prejudice.”

because people did not listen and follow His ‘Love’ instruction.
Code:
Did Jesus teach to love our enemies?

Thank you,

Mike

There has to be Good and Evil in the world, its purpose is for God to determine which path each man wants to take for their eternity. Each man has to be tested, haven’t you read the story of Job ? But wait you don’t believe in the one(the devil) who put Job through the test.So every thing I just said to you is nonsense and you are back to square one, being baffled as to why the world is the way it is.

John 13:34

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

This is what Christ taught and wanted us to do. He said to love all. This is His Message to the world to ‘love one another as I have loved you’.

since the bahai do not know Jesus, it is strange to hear them preaching as though they do know Him,

for example, the bahai believe Jesus was a manifestation of God similar in person and nature to all the other men they proclaim as manifestations.

you see, the bahai know of Jesus. the bahai know smatterings about Jesus.

but they cannot know the Second Person of the Holy Trinity who became Incarnate in Jesus of Nazareth if they deny the most essential elements of His life and teachings. when you deny who Jesus is and what Jesus did, you cannot rightfully claim to know Him.

from the tone of many of the bahai posts, i gather they also are not interested in learning the truth about Jesus.

how can a human being give proper and true glory to God if they reject the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Holy Trinity?

the bahai here fill their writings with the word love.

this begs the question, what is the bahai definition of love?

any bahai is welcome to provide that definition to the rest of us if they can agree upon a definition of love among themselves.

The story of Job is a beautiful story. I thank you for reminding me about it. I even bought the audio book of Job the other day and have listened to it once already. God tests man to separate the sheep from the goats and also to teach us that everything the stars, the universe and everything in it are in His Hands.

I loved the way no matter how Job was tested he never complained. He thanked God for both the blessings and the tests.

What greater example of love than this?

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believed on him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3.16).

Yes, fully agreed, the entire world must be tested.

And the Martyrs had the greatest love in return…

**Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. "You are My friends if you do what I command you.…

John 15:13

"I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.
