so the pains that Mary have gone through were no different from what the average mother goes through. thats the point. her experiences were AVERAGE. not extraordinary.

Therefore, nobody felt the pain of Jesus on the Cross more than Mary.

AVERAGE. And I just realized- Mary did not even help Jesus carry the cross!!! And she wasnt even 50yrs old yet! What the hell happened? She just stood there and watched him suffer?

Mary had Joseph. Come to think of it, more credit should go for that guy Joseph. Now what he did was extraordinary: taking in a woman pregnant someone else’s child, and witholding his sexual desires until his death. Now thats something.

And how come she was not terror struck at the sight of Gabriel?

Because Gabriel was a handsome guy? Unlike the other dude out there who has red skin, gigantic horns, a pointy tale and a flaming tongue!!!

Everyone else in scripture was fearful at the sight of an angel.

She was a very young girl and approached by an angel asking her if she would be willing to carry the Son of God for 9 mos. Do you have any idea how she felt at that age if she were to become pregnant without a husband. How her people would treat her. It must be very frightening, but all she had was her faith in God.

Born without original sin, therefore free from the everyday temptations that torments us all…which also means that she had no cravings for wealth & sexual desire. Well God had Eve tempted shortly after she was born (in fact she was so young that hadnt discovered sex yet!). At such a young age she had to deal with the ultra persuasive serpent. Its a no brainer, with or without original sin she was destined to be decieved.

people married young in the olden days. Mary would have been a little troubled, but such fears would have been counterbalanced by the experience of a Magical encounter with the angel. Any naive young girl would be excited of such magical offers, no matter what age they lived in.

No, Saint Mel Gibson was. And he was nice enough to share his version of the Gospel. In his movie Mary only watched jesus suffer and did not even lift a finger to help.

All of those on your list are honored. They serve as examples of life in service to our Creator…no, not all were perfect, and several of them failed quite spectacularly to live up to their calling, but they are still given respect and honor.

Adam and Eve were not like six year olds, they were man and woman. When they ate the apple they BROUGHT evil (death, suffering and so forth) into the world. They knew right from wrong as they were smart enough to know when God said don’t eat from that tree, they were not supposed to. But tempation led them to do wrong. You can be 6 or 46 and still be temptedso your so-called theroy doesn’t wash.

If taken literally then Adam & Eve were kids in an adult’s body. Adam & Eve were extremely naive.

Now if you would argue to take their story figuratively, then there is no sense in taking these ‘figurative’ characters as a comparison to the LITERAL accounts of Mary.

Why is everyone here in conflict with such a ridiculous subject such as this? You either believe in the Word, Jesus Christ, or you don’t. Mary was obedient to God, God then became flesh, then God was obedient to His Mother. He suffered, died, and was Resurrected in fulfillment of the scriptures. He assumed His Mother into heaven and named Her Queen over all the angels of heaven and us creatures here on earth. What more need be said? She is our Queen and our Mother. End, over, done. If she was good enough for our Lord and Savior, she is good enough for us.

You either walk by faith or walk by sight. If a person is not disposed to the truth, all the arguing in the world will not improve his situation.

God loves all His children. Each, in their own way, fulfilled the will of God. They were willing to put aside their own welfare and desires to do the will of God. This is the Truth…“Thy will be done.” It is not a competition for His love and ranking in His Kingdom. Do not fall into the trap of listening to hogwash concerning our Blessed Mother. Her Son would not approve.
