Yes it does. Truth is absolute. If you deny this, I have lost all hope for you.

So one post on a website is authoritative for a whole group? In any other context this would be bigoted. I read the first few pages and didn’t see the comment you say is in the post. I don’t dispute it is there. But most posters don’t seem to be advocating this. So this seems uncharitable to the group.

The fact remains – the belief that a husband has the “authority” to hit his wife – is still circulating.

Are you kidding ,come on folks, it isn’t okay to abuse your wife, or have an abortion, sometimes you have to just use your head. What would Jesus say today? What is wrong with the words “man is the head of household” , as any woman who has been married over 20 years who is running the “household” God knows, isn’t that really what it is about.

If you have to read every comment until page eight I’d say that is an unusual viewpoint. So why would you apply that to a whole group?

That seems a little patronizing. Older folks can have more wisdom than young folks due to life experience. But that isn’t always the case.

I’m not young but I don’t see my parents generation as being all that wise. They gave us the 60s and the divorce and abortion culture. They haven’t repented with wisdom of age.

Older folks can have more wisdom than young folks due to life experience. But that isn’t always the case.
Nobody who has been reasonably happily married for any length of time is interested in marriage advice from teenage boys.

Can you believe this is even an issue? The world is at enmity with God’s people. Trying to make the Church like the world to attract them in is the most skewed logic there is. The church should be so unlike the world. God’s spirit will attract if we quit pushing Him aside in exchange of imitating the world’s theatrics to fill a building. We need to be Christ to the world. But the unfortunate reality is that the road to destruction is wide and we are told many enter therein. Over comers will receive the reward.

this thread has gone-sadly -the same bad way as the last modesty thread.

I just cited a recent teaching of the Church that appeared to say something different. I do realize that if I go several Popes back I will find one saying what you keep announcing. I am sure if this Pope felt it was necessary to teach in that way, he would, but I have not seen him do so.

Catholic teaching doesn’t change. Anything said now doesn’t abrogate past teaching. Current teaching needs to be understood in union with past teaching.

Do you deny that truth is absolute? I would like a yes or no answer, please.

I’ll ignore the petty insults, if you don’t mind.

From the Oath against modernism written by SAINT Pius X:

“I sincerely hold that the doctrine of faith was handed down to us from the apostles through the orthodox Fathers in exactly the same meaning and always in the same purport. Therefore, I entirely reject the heretical’ misrepresentation that dogmas evolve and change from one meaning to another different from the one which the Church held previously.”

I am an adult. Now stop avoiding my question. Is truth absolute? Yes or no.

What marrriage advice did you receive exactly?
Or to put it differently, nobody who has been happily married for any length of time is interested in the thoughts of teenage boys (or teenage girls) on marriage.
