Very early on, pre-Moses, you do see fathers acting as a domestic priest. Abraham comes to mind. But once the Levitical priesthood was instituted things shifted.

That’s what I was referring to. But this doesn’t mute my point. The Man is the spiritual head of the household. He is the spiritual head of the community also, being a priest.

You may not know this, but Gregorian chant has its roots in Jewish liturgical music.

which doesn´t lead to more grace or anything like that. I don´t know how your image of the leading man is - seems a bit like an early abrahamitic superman who´s god-given spiritual power is the main base of the whole society.
I don´t see a mother with less (spiritual) responsibility and influence. Guess who raises your biblical superman.

I know. A friend of mine is a student of classical music and has wrote his thesis on the chants. During this thread I had to think of him, because he loves this chant as much as he loves the modern artists.

No, it doesn’t. I agree. But the man is the spiritual head of the household.
Vague statements about equality undermine this fact.

Equality is a basic teachment about marriage. Read the posts above.

Only in a sense. This does not mean that there are not specific roles which can only be filled by a man and vice versa. Equality is just a buzz word.

The Traditionalist would say none of the above come close to:

Dignus est Agnus (Apoc. 5:12, 1:6 Ps. 71:1)
Dominabitur (Ps. 71:8, 11)
Protestas ejus (Dan. 7:14)
Postula (Ps. 2:8)
Sedebit (Ps. 28:10-11)
Panis Angelicus (Farewell to types! henceforth, We feed on angel’s food: the slave, O wonder! eats the flesh of his Incarnate God. O blessed Three in One! Visit our hearts, we pray, and lead us on through Thine own paths, to Thy eternal day. Amen)
Christus vincit, Christus regnat, Christus imperat! (Christ conquers, Christ reigns, Christ commands!
Hear, O Christ! Hear, O Christ!
To the Holy Church of God, uniting the Faithful beyond the limits of kingdoms; may she have ever-lasting weal.
Redeemer of the world, grant her assistance.
Holy Virgin of virgins, grant her assistance.
Holy Joseph, grant her assistance.
Hear, O Christ! Hear, O Christ!)

Catholic music at it’s best. It speaks of Christ’s Kingship. The Real Presence. The Holy Family. Not going to get any of this from secular music.

Jazz, electronic, country, etc. does not belong in the church.
Jazz has it’s origins in voodooism. I don’t think we can believe there could ever be worship of God in music with those origins.

If you think equality is just “a buzz word” you need to learn some very basic teachings of the church before you come to the music at mass.

Equality is a buzzword.
People want “equal marriage” to undermine family life.
They want “equal pay” to stop women being homemakers.
“Equal opportunities” to justify discrimination.

It was due to the Golden Calf. All the other tribes worshipped the Golden Calf, but the Levites did not. For not abandoning God to worship idols they were given the exclusive right to be priests.

They want “equal pay” to stop women being homemakers.
You’re a teenager so I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt here.

But you come across as really inept and uneducated indicating that women should not have equal pay for the same work.

I graduated college the same as the other persons who were in a management job in other stores like me. We were paid equally.

I became an employee of a college where there were many others in my role. Those with the same experience were paid the same.

I am a freelance writer to support my family so I can allow my children to avoid daycare.

Are you really going to argue that I should be paid less for my freelance work because I have a vagina? A 250 word article is a 250 word article. If a man and I both write equally meritious 250 word articles should we not be paid the same?

Equal pay has little to do with “stopping” women from being home-makers. It means a woman can earn a living, rightfully so.

Only in a sense. This does not mean that there are not specific roles which can only be filled by a man and vice versa. Equality is just a buzz word.
Right. It’s like spiritual transgenderism. Radical equality actually undermines the created order. It is a plague of modernism.

I feel many are of the opinion that teens and young adults ONLY want loud praise and worship music and fail to offer anything else.
And I think that is a notion all need to be disabused of. Thank you.

The catechism section on marriage (1605 et seq i think) consistently states the woman and man are equal. I have frequently heard it taught that because woman was created from Man, per Genesis, she necessarily is equal to him. In addition, if one accepts that when married, two persons become one, then obviously they have to be equal once they are one and the same.

PONTIFICAL COUNCIL FOR THE FAMILY

THE FAMILY AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Article 16
  1. Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.

They should have equal pay for the same work. But that is not what “equal pay” is about.
It proposes that the average earnings of all men should be the same as the average earnings of all women.
This is a nonsensical doctrine that can only be achieved if human nature is suppressed and women do not take on the main role in raising a child.

. The church that claims, in theory, to be a defender of traditional values, is in practice infected with like warm Catholics who hold none of these beliefs.
That is like saying a hospital is infected with patients.
