I’m very confused
The teaching used to be that, while the Father and Son were separate beings, the Holy Spirit was described as the power which emanated from that union. In other words, the Holy Spirit was not viewed as having an individual consciousness.

Sounds like the church Rod Bennet visited

Well done for finding the Catholic Church I would say instead of being confused by other churches find out all about this one then if you are confused about anything ask questions about this church. All churches trace what is true in them through the one holy and apostolic Catholic Church even the CCOG has some truth which comes from here. The Catholic Church was founded by Jesus and has the fullness of truth.

Because they’re making propaganda literally every single day in over 20 countries. There’s literally no one combatting this church. The ones in sub Saharan Africa are small. But this church is international. I researched their doctrines and history. It’s just confusing. I don’t see one person doing anything against them. More and more people are joining that church. Their resources Pretty good, they use the church fathers like Polycarp and polycrates. I’m like what??? Their articles take like 1 hour to read. So much info is typed in each article.
You are overloading yourself with an impossible task which you have assigned to yourself. You might also be obsessing over this. While you are steaming and fuming, that charlatan is not affected in the least. There are good and faithful Christians fighting this faker in each and every location where this false church exists.

Wanna do something to help them in their battle?

Pray.

I see. The thing is the council has resolved that issue, and mainstream Protestant denominations follow that. The council was more than 1700 years ago.

I don’t understand why they do not recognize the divinity of the Holy Spirit. Lord, have mercy.

I don’t recall that specifically. But I do know that the word “trinity” was quite frowned upon and no mention of it was ever made except to point out the “flaws” in mainstream Christian thought. It must be remembered that leaders like Armstrong viewed themselves as the conduit through which God was working and they alone could interpret the word. Since Catholicism was seen as the worst of what Christianity had become, and that went back to the early centuries, every common doctrine was brought into question. No mention was ever made as to how and where the bible had come from, but cult leaders don’t typically like or give credit to the Roman Catholics for anything. So every opportunity to discredit the doctrines gave them a chance to flex their tiny theological muscles.
