He was a Jew, so I guess he gets a discount, maybe.Just wondering what would Jesus do? (Other than shell out the $2.00 for a brownie.) (BTW was Jesus white?)

Usually that means it’s all about the money. It’s not at all about money payments.
Ohhh, its ALL about the money.Usually that means it’s all about the money.
I guess you didn’t read SB 185.
Agreed, when you hold the whip you have the advantage, unless you meet someone with a knife or gun.Holding the whip hand means having the advantage or having the upper hand.
Lord, teach these fine folk what a dictionary is.
Hey, wasn’t he technically from Asia? So maybe he would get the “Asian” discount. He was a Jew, so I guess he gets a discount, maybe.
The argument is not that there are inequalities in the admissions requirements – the argument is that inequalities exist in terms of the educational background afforded to minorities.
So it’s about sponsoring equal outcomes, not offering equal opportunities. Now, as you go on to note, these issues aren’t always race specific, but in practice, they frequently are race specific, to the point that minorities, in general, don’t have the same opportunities that whites do, in general. Obviously, that’s not going to apply to every case, but it applies to so many cases that we can say we want social policy to address it.
Yes, no bake, organic, gluten free, lactose free, egg free, sugar free brownies made by a transexual lesbian Wiccan veteran with one eye and one leg named Lucky. Was there an additional discount for cupcakes made without emissions?
That person deserves a free cupcake. They suffer an injustice every day they wake up.Yes, no bake, organic, gluten free, lactose free, egg free, sugar free brownies made by a transexual lesbian Wiccan veteran with one eye and one leg named Lucky.

I wonder if I applied to Howard University I could get preferred admission?
Can you point out the minority-only schools they are coming from? I know there are some terrible, inner-city public schools that have a larger minority population. What happens to the white kids in these schools? Were they afforded a better educational background, even though they were in the same school? Of course not. How do they get a leg up, or do you believe they automatically have one because of their skin color?

I thought I addressed this objection in my last post, but just for you, I’ll paste it below:I know there are some terrible, inner-city public schools that have a larger minority population. Let’s start with some support for this point before it needs to be disputed.. There are always going to be a handful of situations like that and abuses and other things that people generally don’t like. But overall – and this is, after all, a big picture policy – overall, it will make the tremendous unfairness of the system that currently exists a little, teensy bit more fair."
Did you have anything substantive to say to dispute this point?
Sure. Your idea of fairness is racist. I was talking about poor kids being of any race. Separating out one race over another is racist. It would be much more equitable to set up a way to give a leg up to kids based on economic/regional background. That would make more sense.I thought I addressed this objection in my last post, but just for you, I’ll paste it below:
“One policy solution is that college admissions should take into account these discrepencies of opportunity when evaluating applications. Is this going to result in some cases where a poor white kid gets the short end of the stick while a** middle class black kid **gets a big advantage? Sure. There are always going to be a handful of situations like that and abuses and other things that people generally don’t like. But overall – and this is, after all, a big picture policy – overall, it will make the tremendous unfairness of the system that currently exists a little, teensy bit more fair.”

Liberals take two underprivileged kids, one white and one black, and say “we should help the black kid.” That is what they call “fair.”Let’s start with some support for this point before it needs to be disputed.
