People deserve the position they work for and are able to achieve.

It is not the place of anyone else to deny anyone what they work for based on skin color.

Unless you wish to claim for us that the money the government has was earned somehow and not simply taken in the form of taxes, Yes.
The government has no money of its own to spend, if it to spend money it must be someone elses.

“racist” has a certain meaning. I don’t see true racism in this thread. I have seen just a few posters on CAF dance around racism with a wink to others sharing their unfortunate positions but not in this thread.

I just see an unwillingness and lack of knowledge of the true and meaningful effects of institutionalised discrimination and oppresion in this thread.

I have learned a great deal about this issue in the empiracally based “Unified Theory of Ethnic Relations”- a very elegant illumination of “racial” and ethnic dynamics in the US- and other under-graduate and graduate work in psychology and social work.

But then again, I know that my views will be poo-pooed as mere indoctrinisation in the liberaly establishment so . . . . . . .

FYI I was a Conservative Reagan-guy when I was younger but when I learned that life was more complicated than the types of ideas held by many Conservatives I couldn’t hold this view in good conscience.

Racism is discriminating against people based on their race. It really is it not hard concept to grasp other than for those trying to justify it.

You didn’t read my post where I rejected the use of a loaded term like “prejudice.” Of course, I’m not going to respond to such, nor to the implication that I’m “ducking.” 🤷
 
My position: Affirmative action refers to policies that take factors including “race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation or national origin” into consideration in order to benefit an underrepresented group, usually as a means to counter the effects of a history of discrimination.

Don’t like it? Go vote Republican. 🤷

Here we see an example of complicating the issue rather then do what is right.

We have a sniper content to claim every truth and correct moral statement is really only opinion, but has not the gumption to admit where exactly that places him.

What you think is “right” is a position shared by a number of others, and I’ve no problem with that, but don’t think for a moment that I or many others agree. Sorry.

There’s your trying to introduce a loaded term like “discriminate.” Don’t bother. I didn’t fall off the turnip truck yesterday and don’t buy into your pious notions of “truth” and “prejudice.”

So, it is right to discriminate against one group now that has never committed injustice because a group with the same skin color committed injustice in the past. Wow. Just, wow. You really have no understanding of justice. And the only institutionalize oppression is the system of entitlements that are keeping poor people poor, typically the type of programs sponsored by Democrat.

Btw…since Ringil felt compelled to provide a definition of “racism,” perhaps you can have him look up “discriminate” for you. I think you’ll find it’s an accurate term when referring to “policies that take factors including ‘race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation or national origin’ into consideration.” There is nothing loaded about the term. We all discriminate based on many different factors. It’s the way decisions are made.
