So, I can either buy a cookie for $2.00, or send my wife to get me a cookie, where she’ll get it for $.50. I think the $.50 version of the same cookie will taste better.
Ah, but there are chocolate chip cookies, and there are chocolate chip cookies. So, I can either buy a cookie for $2.00, or send my wife to get me a cookie, where she’ll get it for $.50. I think the $.50 version of the same cookie will taste better.
No, I simply asked if the profile were in error. The other way around. He questioned my faith allegiance first. I replied sarcastically.
No need to beat that dead horse any more. Your question was irrelevant and my reply unnecessary. No, I simply asked if the profile were in error.
There is a radical difference there from what either of you are interpreting it to be.
Yes Rich, I require the posting of your Catholic ID Card please.Well, you did leave it wide for interpretation. No one on this thread thus far has introduced anything concerning a pro-life argument, yet for some reason you felt compelled to.
I cannot imagine why that would need to be done unless there is a need to derail the thread. Nothing can do that quite like an abortion argument.
Which then leads us to ask why…
I am suspecting that affirmative action is no longer defensible.
My profile is not erroneous, it is an accurate representation. I am Catholic.
Still having difficulty answering questions I see.
This was a simple question as well.
Is your profile in error where it specifies your religion as catholic?
And, I’m always pleased to see your posts on a thread - even when I don’t always agree with them.I like your posts too much to see that happen.![]()
Rich has definitely not defended abortion on this thread. It is very clear. I hope there are no more references to it.Whether abortion is defended by Rich or not, getting back to the thread, I am very firmly convinced from a common sense of decency that affirmative action is punishing the children for the sins of the ancestors. How very UN Liberal is that. I guess only Black children get helped because of the sins of evil white ancestors.
We are punishing children for actions of someone elses ancestors in many cases.I am very firmly convinced from a common sense of decency that affirmative action is punishing the children for the sins of the ancestors. He brought it up in the first place.Rich has definitely not defended abortion on this thread. It is very clear. I hope there are no more references to it.
Afirmative Action addresses manifestation of PRESENT inequalities in opportunity and institutionalized discrimination and oppresion. While some of these factors certainly have historic dynamics at play Afirmative Action is not a form of Reparation for sins of the PAST.Whether abortion is defended by Rich or not, getting back to the thread, I am very firmly convinced from a common sense of decency that affirmative action is punishing the children for the sins of the ancestors. Remember though, these are republican college students, most likely of the Van Wilder type. That wasn’t cream in those doughnuts and that may not be chocolate chips in those cookies. So, I can either buy a cookie for $2.00, or send my wife to get me a cookie, where she’ll get it for $.50. OK, so why do we have a system to favor certain skin colors over others?Afirmative Action addresses manifestation of PRESENT inequalities in opportunity and institutionalized discrimination and oppresion. It’s not there “to make up for slavery.”
For votes.OK, so why do we have a system to favor certain skin colors over others?
He lived in a time when such pandering was obvious. One of the first slaves who educated himself and became a politician said that black folks would never fall for the pandering of handouts by the Democrat party. Well, some things have changed and some have stayed the same.
How is practicing discrimination going to end discrimination?Afirmative Action addresses manifestation of PRESENT inequalities in opportunity and institutionalized discrimination and oppresion.

Ding!Ding!Ding! We have a winner! The truth is affirmative action is the Democrats ticket to the black vote. Much like medicare is to the older folks, without it they lose those votes. When you are going to vote Democrat no matter what, you will stick to your opinions that something isn’t what it really is because you know without it, you have nothing else.
You fight fire with water. Not more fire. How is practicing discrimination going to end discrimination?
