Prayer to St Monica

O holy Monica, by your patience and prayers you obtained from God the conversion of your husband and the grace to live in peace with him; obtain for us, we beseech you, the blessing of Almighty God, so that true harmony and peace may reign also in our homes, and that all the members of our families may attain eternal life. Amen.

Lord Jesus soften the heart of the father and husband of this family. May he come to understand your love and may he repent by charity towards his love ones. May the entire family be strengthen from all this. Amen

Efrain, Morenna, Nana: thank you all for your prayers. This is such a trying time. We have had help from MANY priests, and dh just doesn’t seem to want to budge from his old ways. I think he really needs “something”. Please keep praying since I am literally getting sick from the silence in our home and the outbreaks of anger. It is affecting my children as well. Thank you all so much. You are in my prayers. Much love…

Merciful and loving Lord, You have made mom4truth and her husband one flesh. You love that flesh, O Lord, with a deep, eternal affection. Graciously incline your ear to hear the intercession of Your Beloved Son on behalf of mom4truth’s husband. Speak to his heart, most Pure and Ever living God, that its hardness may melt upon exposure to the penetrating warmth of Divine Love. Help his family to know that his anger concerns himself, but is apparent to those he loves. Grant him a healthy sense of humility, and may Your Holy Spirit open his eyes to the passion with which you eagerly call him. Strengthen the entire family as he undergoes a blessed change of heart, and allow them to remain full of hope, as was Saint Monica as she continually and lovingly prayed for her errant and wayward son. And Lord, Your Divine Mercy created a Saint out of the clay that was Augustine. We turn also to his intercession before Your Son for our help and our hope. We ask this in the name of Christ, our Lord. Amen. Alleluia!

My dearest Mom4Truth,
I am in full sympathy with you each day. I pray for you each day on the St. Monica thread, as you pray for me. I know the pain of the silent brooding, and the fear and anxiety that comes with the sudden outbursts of temper. The darkness that shadows our families (and even our pets) during this time is frightening, and so sorrowful.

Mark_j12 Bless you! It is helpful to hear from one who has been on the other side of that door, and came through it. You are a source of faith for those of us enduring this pain.

I pray for us all Mom4Truth, the spouses, and the families suffering, and those in need of conversion, for themselves and for the sake of those who love them. May God continue to walk with you through this trial. May he shine his eternal love upon your husband and your family, warming your husband’s heart, and protecting each of you from harm.

Thank you PO and Diana, you both write so beautifully. I’m trying to hang in there, but it’s so hard and I’m SO tired…

Mom,
I literally ache for you. I prayed again for you at Mass this morning. The sermon was about the difficulty of forgiveness, and I thought how difficult that must be for you right now. I was never that forceful in rejecting the faith, but I know how it can affect a family and the children.
Right now, I think you have to do what is best for you and your children – you are Momof4 after all. There is a quote about how “courage isn’t always a roar, but hopw courage is sometimes sitting back at the end of the day and saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’” It takes courage and faith to go through what you are being asked for right now. Your husband may forsake your faith and the values you are trying to instill in your children, but He will never forsake you.

Mom4truth:

I’m praying for you and your husband.

Prayerfully,

Renato

Today is a very bad day. I have a horrible mirgraine which has rendered me unable to get out of bed (probably from stress of dh). I have the flu and I have UC which is acting up. DH is being atrocious today and I feel as though I am unable to withstand this pressure-cooker of a home we’re living in. I truly need a miracle. My husband has some deep issues which he is unable to face. I pray for him like all get out - don’t get me wrong. I love my church, I am obedient to the Magisterium as are my two kids, I offer my physical & spiritual sufferings as redemptive suffering and I feel as though I am getting nowhere fast. Make any sense? And I want to be a saint! Hah! Well, please keep praying for me. I also keep every at CAF in my prayers. You all are so kind and appreciated. I thank you from the bottom of my lonely heart! God bless!

Continued prayers for you Mom4Truth! :gopray:
And sympathy for your pains :console:
My DH finally came out of his hole for a brief, not so shining moment to at least make an effort to talk, but like yours, he has a deeper, darker issue that he is not able to face. I know his behaviour comes from a past that he has hidden deeper than he is able to reach, which helps me to be forgiving and loving, despite his ability to reciprocate these feelings.
Anyways, things didn’t go so well here today, and I will continue to pray to St. Monica, God, Blessed Virgin Mary, and all the Saints, for you, and for all of us in this tiring position.
May tomorrow be a better day. :console:

Diana,
Sorry things weren’t so great on your end either. I’m keeping you in my prayers too. I’ll hold your hand through this journey. Thank you for praying, my friend! God bless you.

I will pray for your intentions in my rosary tonight.

God Bless

Unfortunately, things are not any better. In fact, they are getting worse. Perhaps the devil is at his “best”. Husband needs to find Christ’s truth. He (dh) is deluding himself. I’m worried about his soul. Please pray for him (and me). I pray for all at CAF.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated, Prayerjohn. Thank you for taking the time to think of me and my husband. Prayers coming your way, also! God bless you.

Mom,
Pray and seek guidance from your parish priest.
I am praying like crazy for you. Be mindful of yourself and family.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
God bless!
Mark

Mom, I said a prayer to St. Monica and Our Lady for you and your husband. God bless you my sister in Christ. God hears your cries for help. You have many crosses to bear my friend, may Our Dear Lord ease your suffering.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Mom, I love this poem and just thought it might bring you a little peace.

Footprints in the Sand
Code:
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
                         when I was suffering from
                     anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
  "You promised me Lord,
     that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
                             there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

                             The Lord replied,
                      "The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
      is when I carried you."

Thank you, Maryann
The silence and distance between us is becoming unbearable. Your prayers are really needed. You are in my rosaries, dear friend. Much love…

mom4truth, may our good Lord touch your husband and call him to be one with us. May peace be with you and your family. Don’t despair, God is listening to your prayers as He does mine coz after 20 years, my husband is preparing for baptism this Easter and I’ll pray that your husband will experience God’s love too. God be with you and your family. :gopray:

My heart breaks for all that you are going through. Boy do I understand. It is a very heavy cross you are bearing and I will keep you close to my heart and remember you in all my prayers throughout the day and in the Mass. Your consolation will be God for now to help you endure this suffering. We are all here for you. Don’t give up and fall into despair. You’re under attack now and need prayer. I will pray for the conversion of your husband.

Dear Lord Jesus,
You know that Mom4truth loves You so much and she needs you now for strength and comfort. Give her some consolation during this time so that she can feel your love and mercy. Have mercy on her marriage. You Lord gave us free will, but you can soften a hard heart and we ask you to do so for her husband. Help her to help her husband and be there for him, but she needs you know in her time of need. Blessed Mother, St. Anne and St. Monica, please pray for her and all that she suffers to be raised to heaven to be joined in what Jesus suffered for her husband’s conversion. We believe in miracles and are asking for a miracle to cure this marriage and all hurting marriages. St. Michael help her fight the devil that is trying to ruin her marriage. St. Augustine and St. Joseph, please pray for her husband to be a good and holy husband and father.

Amen
