Then I shouldn’t mention when I was pumping with ds1 I had to guard my breast milk or the guys would try to use it for creamer in their coffee??? Yeah they were pigs… they actually wanted to try it…

Ok!! Decorum! Please, ladies! Yes. I agree with whatevergirl. We need a barf smilie.
Click the “quote” button as if to respond to my message. Right click on the smiley. Click “Save picture as” and it will pop you into your pictures folder, where you can save it.thanks, mercygate! That’s totally disgusting! Is there some way to save that from your post for future use?
when SIL was newly married she hosted TG dinner in their apartment in an old section of Canton OH. apparently everybody cooking at the same time reduced gas pressure, and her old oven with a pilot light kept going off. Think we finally ate around 10 pm, and the pies never did go in, we had them the next day.I
OHHH- Also get an oven thermometer and check your oven temp. It might be off.
and my favorite brand of bread, BimboI do
Hispanic products- Also very easy. If I liked powdered detergent, I could get Ace (Tide) in a sort of plastic, sort of paper sack at most markets in my town. I have 4 septic packs of BOING! in my pantry, one of which is guava.
Oh how absolutely yuck that sounds, I don’t blame any of the posters who followed this with comments that are best summed up by a very South African word “sies” which means something very, verry horrible and disgusting. I have no idea what part that was your boyfriend ate, but anyone who eats something as revolting as that should, purely on those grounds be an ex. I’ve only ever eaten the bits you did, tasty meat and have NO IDEA what the rest was, and I really do not think I want to know :bigyikes:Vivienne,
I’m not versed in beef tongue so maybe you can answer a question - he said he’d give me the "good’ part - the inside - and he’d take the outside because ‘Americans don’t like it.’ The inside was very tender, substantial and tasty, sort of like veal.
The part he ate, well, it was stringy and gelatinous and sort of looked like, well, uh…sort of like snot.
Did he cook it wrong or is that the way it’s supposed to be? Is there any way to avoid that?
My son-in-law was visiting some very earthy folks who prided themselves on living off the land. They offered him coffee, made it by pouring boiling water over instant granules, all fine so far, then “Do you want milk?” “Yes, please” and the lady of the house lifted her shirt and squeezed the milk in!!!Then I shouldn’t mention when I was pumping with ds1 I had to guard my breast milk or the guys would try to use it for creamer in their coffee??? Yeah they were pigs… they actually wanted to try it…
Absolutely nothing wrong with breastmilk, but, as you say, not the best addition to coffee. I also get this sort of feeling as though it’s stealing a child’s food. I know the body makes more, but it still feels morally wrong. Mmm, thinking of the practicalities, wouldn’t the steam from the coffee burn, or was she so good she could do the deed long distance. However, there is nothing gross about my breastmilk! At least I know where it came from and what’s in itBut, yeah, it’s not creamy enough for coffee, not to mention the amount of effort it takes to express!
LOL! Thank you.
I just thought I’d pop in to wish ya’ll a happy Thanksgiving…I see you’re back on the breast milk topic again…either I’m experiencing deja vu or didn’t start drinking early enough this morning I guess…
I don’t have to cook today. But when I do, I don’t do the traditional turkey and ham for holidays. I’ve got a no-fail recipe that’s super easy and people think you’re a gourmet. Cornish game hens roasted with apples, pears, raisins or currants, & walnuts, stuffed or split. Sometimes I use pomegranates instead of the other fruit with a pomegranate / honey glaze. An hour in the oven and you’re done. No leftovers, it smells as good as turkey, never dry.
A lazy cook-with-gourmet-aspirations’ dream.
