To the contrary, for recall when Jesus said that, “Amen, amenJesus never said he was God, nor were the Jews looking for God incarnate, nor do they believe God would incarnate.
John 10:30-34 In which the Jews specifically were against the idea of God being a man, during the time of Jesus.
God being a man is against the Old Testament (Number 23:19)
I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM,” ‘I AM’ signifying that
Jesus is the same God that spoke to Moses. Jesus didn’t say,
“before Abraham was, I was,” but by saying ‘I AM,’ speaking of
how he is the Self-Existent One, i.e. God. (See John 8:58)
Also, there were many forms of Judaism, such as the Sadducee, the
Pharisee, Essene, etc, some who did expect the Messiah to be God.
Plus, it doesn’t matters what the Jews were expecting. What matters
is what the prophets were saying. I recommend this link:jesusplusnothing.com/questions/JesusisGod.htmAnd on John 10:30-34, you seem to ignore 30, in which Jesus said
that he AND the Father (referring to God) are ONE. In other words,
Jesus and the Father, though separate persons, are the same God.
THAT is when the Jews accused him of blasphemy, for they under-
stood that Jesus meant that he is God, but he was only a poor and
dirty carpenter of sorts, “Jesus=God?”
Funny, to argue that Jesus isn’t God, you used a passage that affirms the contrary!
And you had to use that Number 23:19,God is not a man, that he should lie, nor as
the son of man, that he should be changed.
Hath he said then, and will he not do? hath
he spoken, and will he not fulfil?
Do Christians dispute that text? No. Do Christians say that God was a human at THAT
time? No. Do Christians say that God as to his eternal nature was human? No. What
Christians DO say is that almost 2,000 years ago, God took on human flesh and dwelt
for a while among us, which is not addressed by Numbers 23:19, but let’s say it does: God is not a man, that he should lie, nor as
the son of man, that he should be changed.
Hath he said then, and will he not do? hath
he spoken, and will he not fulfil?
You got to read the Bible more carefully than how you’ve done so far.
