Some good - and interesting - covers there. Abba as metal? Shouldn’t work, but it totally does!

There are a couple of cover albums out there called “Swedish Hitz Goes Metal” and about half the songs are ABBA songs. I don’t know why it works, but it does. 🙂

Dexys did a rather good Celtic cover of TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)

Interesting… LOVE Barrytown! Barrytown, BTW is about Tarrytown , NY and the Moonie population that was there at one town . This version is not bad at all!

I would have thought that “Josie” would have been the one people would try to cover.

The Waylon version works too.

You know something, I miss GOOD Country music!!!

I vividly remember that one.

She’s such a tiny little thing, at least compared to him, but a huge voice.

I like Don Mclean’s cover of “Crying” better than the Roy Orbison original.

Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush crushed this song too: Being from Montreal originally, I am partial to Mahogany Rush:

BTW Frank also became an Orthodox Christian after overcoming an LSD addiction at age 13. To this day, when he is not performing, he writes and meditates on Jesus Christ.

For anyone who likes show tunes, here’s a rendition of “Fame”. 🙂

This is one where I love both equally. Need to dig out my Cowboy Junkies CDs.

I always thought the music/vocals from this version of Bad Moon Rising fit the lyrics better than the more mellow/jovial original.

This cover doesn’t quite do it for me - the chorus of Life In A Northern Town (if you.look at the original video) is meant to be more fist-pumping defiance than sweet harmony.
