Well, agnos, to sum up a Southern saying, some folks need their behind kicked.šŸ˜‰

Yeah, it would certainly show the spirit of Christ living in us…

Wonder what happened to him?
His name is James Lyman.

The Church is St. Dominic’s in Panama City, Florida. This Church is only a few minutes away from Tyndall Air Force Base.

I did hear someone saying to get his license plate number in the video. I don’t know what happened to him for this incident.

I googled his name and found his website. He has it posted there, along with a lot more of his antics, like a trophy page. I watched a few of his videos. He attacks everyone. Even though he is a baptist preacher, he went onto the streets once across the street from another baptist group. They had a very huge argument across the street at each other…condemning each other to hell. He even uses his kids to help ā€œevangelizeā€ at these tirades. 🤷

I think the congregation handled the situation very well.

^ What a shame. A religious brawl would have made a much better show for youtube viewers.
it would be too quick to be considered a brawl šŸ‘

The Mass is the Unbloody Sacrifice of our Lord. May God have Mercy on anyone who dares to disturb this most holy hour. I will do anything to ensure its integrity.

Christ’s spirit doesn’t move us to fight?

I would honestly be worried that this man was under the influence of some kind of narcotic or hallucinogen.

It would be not only for the integrity of the mass, but the safety of all those around us.

Indeed, I truly believe that it would be my duty to show this man the way to the door, whether he was willing to see it or not. I don’t know how I could sit with my conscience if I simply watched this take place.

I have been watching this cat’s video’s on his website. Typical. I will say this, atleast he confronted the Phelp’s Westboro bunch.

Again, I feel sorry for him. He has issues.

If he made a move to hurt someone, then acting, with as little force as needed is required. To boast that you’re spoiling for a fight with him is entirely seperate. His spirit does not move us to fight, it moves us to share the fire of His love with all. As was in another poster’s sig, ā€œLove one another as I have loved you.ā€

I disagree.

It would even be best for his own soul, that he should end this blasphemy as quickly as possible. Indeed, the most loving thing to do would be to remove him as quickly as possible.

I also believe the legions of crusader-martyrs who are now in heaven, would also disagree with you.

Meh. I very much doubt that they would disagree with me now. Maybe when they still walked the bloodied battlefields they would have. Those looking for a fight aren’t bringing the message of God. They’re bringing their own ego, and maybe they should practice humility. I’m thankful that the church goers did not result to violence since it is obvious that it was not needed.

I agree with you.

Mat 5:43 You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thy enemy.
Mat 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you:
Mat 5:45 That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.
Mat 5:46 For if you love them that love you, what reward shall you have? do not even the publicans this?
Mat 5:47 And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more? do not also the heathens this?
Mat 5:48 Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect.

Now if he made a violent move, I would think it right to subdue him only as necessary to constrain him until the authorities arrived. From what I saw, he was not there to commit violence other that disrupting the Mass.

If you saw his videos, there was one where a woman got right in his face and he mentioned if she touched him it would be on camera and he would bring legal action against her. She still pushed him and a policeman escorted her away from him. I believe just to remove her for her own legal sake.

Yes because putting yourself in harms way is obviously an indicator of pride.

Also, I don’t think there was anyone there capable of dealing with him. Having had training as a doorman, I know exactly how to handle him. Heck, maybe i’d just treat em like I would a linebacker, start up in a three-point stance in the middle of the aisle, ready, set, hut!

Again, I just know that with myself, my conscience would be burdened with guilt for not using my God-given talents, namely, haulin’ ***. 😃

Yeah, no one else could handle it… Thankfully violence wasn’t needed. Putting yourself in harm’s way because it is what you want, is pride. Handling the situation in a peaceful manner, even though it is not the quickest way, did work. You can’t beat sense into someone. Many times you can’t even reason it into them.

Then every single person who has willingly volunteered to the armed forces, and placed themselves in harm’s way because they wanted to out of love of nation or God, is being prideful?

You almost make the faith sound pacifist. It certainly is not. Thank God for that, least no one would have fought at the battle of Vienna or Lepanto.

He can do whatever on the public street corner. I just ignore such nutjobs.

But if he enters into a House of God, and blasphemes the most Holy Sacrifice of the mass, then he has disrupted a religious service and the law is now on my side.

I do not believe they are being prideful when they join the armed forces. I believe they are making a sacrifice for their family and country. The faith is not about being a pacifist, it’s about not spoiling for a fight. It’s trying to find a peaceful resolution to any and all conflicts that come before us. Violence is a last resort. A pacifist would not lift a hand to save their wife or children if they were being attacked. I assure you, I would do more life than my hand to protect the health of my family.

Please do not assign me motive or words I did not state. Especially on Memorial day would not call our soldiers in the armed forces prideful. I know many who have joined and still serve. Most did not join because they wanted to enact violence, but because they wanted to protect something. And all my friends and family who did join wish they never had to fire their weapon.

Well, I’m not American, so I wasn’t aware it was memorial day. Is memorial day like Remembrance day?

In any case, I would not be acting out of pride as you so pridefully insinuated. No, I would be acting out of love of God, the mass and His Church. Again as I said time and time again, I could not rest with my conscience if I just sat there, knowing I could do something about this.

Our faith certainly is not pacifist, one just needs to look to our past to be reassured that violence is offend the proper means.

Hello Freshman88,

The biggest difference I see in your argument is the fact those who serve our country are protecting from a violence being used.

This man, no matter how misguided, was not being violent, that I can see.
