I was wondering who thinks it is a good idea to walk into somebody else’s worship place and talk about God?

Where did the attitude of this preacher came from?
The devils are truly the deceiver who deceives others to think that they are doing something good for God.

In PNG and other parts of the Asia-Pacific region, evangelical Christian groups have been accused of inflaming passions by preaching against the evils of witchcraft

Evangelised elements of the Duna tribe of Lake Kopiago - at the centre of terrible anti-witchcraft torture trials of women during the past year - have apparently been influenced by assertions that witches have fallen under the power of Satan.

I found this on the very same site. I can’t believe a priest would act like this. Do you think this is real? I wonder if someone staged this to make Catholics look bad?

I have never seen a priest like this…😦

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. You don’t emphasize the language she must be using toward the priest or how she attacked him first…they only show the priest reacting. Big deal, I would of done the same.

At least they would love their faith enough to stand up and fight.

On that note, I’m out.
Freshman, I am with you. sometimes you must fight for your religion. Peter said “BE PREPARED TO MAKE A DEFENSE FOR THE HOPE THAT IS IN YOU”. Especially for the Catholic Mass.

Curious…why do you call this hatred.

I ask this because in a day of age where Christians are accused of hating gays because we oppose gay marriage, I think we should be careful of overreaching this word…

However…crazy…yes.
Because that is what it was…HATRED against the Catholics if not the Catholic Mass. Did you not hear what he was saying??? He said the priest was a devil, that he would not save you.
It certainly wasn’t love mozart, what would you call it then? I wouldn’t use the term crazy, because he isn’t crazy, just hateful.

This was either staged (doubtful), a re-occurance, or the guy holding the camera was there because he was with the disruptive guy. I don’t think there is any camera phone out there that records so well, but, I could be wrong.
I am fairly sure it is the last option since his web site has a number of videos on it and he apparantly has a number of family members involved in his ministry.

I am surprised this incident has not resulted in an arrest.

Hello Cathdefender,

I believe you are taking that out of context. Can you please quote the scripture where Peter said something to that affect?

From what I remember, he was discussing defense of your faith through what you’ve learned.

Here is my point…the same logic you use to say that video constitutes hate against the Catholics, is the same logic that gays use to say that us morally conservative Christians hate gays.

There is no doubt that he is opposed to Catholics and that he believes that all Catholics are going to hell. There is no doubt that he is very zealous in this belief to the point of interrupting a Catholic mass. And there should be not doubt he is very misguided in his beliefs…possibly to the point of committing an illegal activity for which he should receive criminal sanctions.

I just have severe doubts whether opposition to anything…even a misguided opposition…constitutes hatred.

Peter had been rebuked earlier by Jesus for drawing his sword in the garden. I believe that here he is talking about defending our faith with words, not violence. But hey, whatever. Violence is awesome. Let’s all poke each others eyes out.

1Pe 3:13 And who is he that can hurt you, if you be zealous of good?
1Pe 3:14 But if also you suffer any thing for justice’ sake, blessed are ye. And be not afraid of their fear: and be not troubled.
1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts, being ready always to satisfy every one that asketh you a reason of that hope which is in you.
1Pe 3:16 But with modesty and fear, having a good conscience: that whereas they speak evil of you, they may be ashamed who falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
1Pe 3:17 For it is better doing well (if such be the will of God) to suffer than doing ill.

But even if you should suffer because of righteousness, blessed are you. Do not be afraid or terrified with fear of them,

but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope,

but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame.

Is this what you’re referring too, Cathdefender?

What bible is that from?

The first verse that came to my mind was:

11 "Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew (RSV) 5)

So we should thank him for giving the Holy Catholic Church such a blessing.

im replying to the comment made by redrosetea about the video with the priest and the fight he had with the woman – id put the quote u had but i dont know how to do that – but i wouldn’t be completely suprised if that video was fake seeing how it was posted along with several other anti-Catholic videos - but if it is true you can’t base your opinion of the Church or of priest based on what just one of them does - not like you had planned to.

I’m also wondering about that video - because I have never seen videotapping of a sacrament - and infact at our parish i believe it is banned along with photos except for a professional videotaper person - and im not sure where that video goes - but certainly it isnt YouTube. how did they get that video if thats the case?

I clicked on that guys name and it took me to a site that was filled with such horrible anti Catholic stuff…I am sure that video is a fake, that it was all staged…the website if awful, I am not even going to post a link to it

I deeply regret I didn’t check it out before I posted that video, but I am not as good at some of this stuff ,as the rest of you are

I am sure that was a video made just to smear catholics

i think you are right there! redtearose. i’ve watched some of those videos and its a shame there are so many misunderstandings and many just wont take the time to ask questions and learn about opposing faiths in a more peaceful and respectable manner

and i know this goes off topic - but is it right to take pictures and/or videotape sacraments?

The rant in the Catholic Church was real. I’ve been inside St. Dominic’s. I don’t know of any Catholic Church that would be willing to allow much less willingly participate in such a tirade. 😦

Prodigal we are talking about 2 differnt videos…While watching the first one I discovered a link that shows a priest throwing holy water on a woman during a baptism, and striking her…I am sure it’s a fake…
