The polls aren’t worth much for the simple reason that Kasich has only won a single primary in his home state – and that not by much. There is no way he beats Clinton/Sanders.

I’m not sure Cruz is disliked by the party, only by the power hungry elitists like Mitch McConnell and former Speaker John Boehner.
Then why aren’t more senators supporting him?

If trump doesn’t get enough delegates on first ballot, there is no way cruz will get it on second or third ballot or whatever. The senators and the establishment don’t like cruz. They are only using him to beat trump. that’s all.

Takeaways from the GOP town hall

I think Cooper is right that Cruz didn’t answer the question about hypothetically supporting Trump if he gets the nomination; but what do you expect? Cruz isn’t a dummy. (Is he?)
And trump doesn’t care either way. At this point who cares? Let’s just get the race over and everybody can do whatever the heck they wish. No need to pretend.

This may well be the Summer that establishment arrogance put’s an end to the GOP as a major force in American politics. And I certainly hope those Trump supporters, and maybe even Cruz supporters, remember names of politicians responsible to put on there “never again” to vote for list.

Personally I can tell you that I’ve joined “NeverBolling”.

I don’t know who can’t stand Cruz and who can’t. I do know Lindsay Graham can’t stand him, but supports him over Trump.

I agree, though, there is no possible way Cruz could beat Sanders or Clinton. Either Democrat would win by a landslide.
Actually with all due respect I think the opposite. I think Cruz has a far better chance of beating Sanders or Clinton than Trump does. I think Hillary would mow over Trump in a debate. Kasich I admit would stand a good chance of beating Hillary, but it is not possible now for him to get the nomination by delegate count at least going into the convention.

Cruz to Jimmy Kimmel:

“If I was in my car getting ready to reverse and I saw Donald in the back-up camera, I’m not sure which pedal I would push.”

If trump had said that, the universe would have stopped, cable networks would have exploded with talking heads gasping for air, all fingers would have pointed to trump until he drops out or is crucified.

I don’t have a crystal ball to see into the future. You may very well be right. Time will tell.

I agree with you that Kasich won’t be the nominee. I don’t see Trump having the required number of delegates by convention time. So, do you think Cruz will be the nominee, or do you think it will be someone not currently in the race?

You are right, if it had been Trump, the media would play that over and over till everyone was sick of hearing it. Even I see that, and I’m not a Trump supporter.

I honestly don’t know why this forum is so friendly toward Trump-propaganda.

When one characterizes it as “Trump propaganda”, one discloses the depth of one’s own negative judgment of the candidate. That sort of thing invites response even perhaps from those, like me, who actually prefer another candidate. Not all attacks on Trump are justified.

I guess if you use the term “Trump-propanganda”, or suggest that it exists, that makes you a biggot or something. Can anyone here suggest an alternate term that is politically correct?

Actually it feels exactly the opposite to me. The slightest criticism of Trump is perceived (and jumped on) as Anti-Trump Propaganda. I have never in my life seen a group of supporters so reluctant to critically, responsibly evaluate their candidate. Wait, maybe Obama. 😉

I’m hoping it’s Cruz but I would be fine with Kasich, too, if possible.
I guess I don’t think it’s fair if someone who has never campaigned or ran a campaign were to get it. I just don’t.
I do think Trump as a good chance of being the nominee, at this point anyway, as well.

I think that for a few weeks, at least, this forum was wrapped around Trump’s finger. Then several days ago it became just plain discussion. But don’t be surprised if it reverts. :o

I feel like there are pro and anti and neutral Trump posters, also of course everyone’s posts come in varying degrees of stridency, coherency, etc. 🙂 Maybe you are watching too much Eric Bolling. I have stopped watching FoxNews, at least for now. That does help a lot in this regard.

Cruz will very likely take Wisconsin, but Trump will soon be back in the game - New York, Northeast. It is looking like it will go down to the wire - to the convention, no one will get to 1237. There is a slight chance though of Trump dropping off the board - I believe this - basically because the voters are (1) getting more serious about the decision and (2) getting tired, drained from the ‘high energy media drama’ that Trump cannot survive without. It serves no purpose other than whipping everyone into a negative frenzy. When the appeal of that cools, Trump is done.

I personally think Cruz has had some of the best weeks of the campaign - post the Heidi attack. That has actually made a pretty cold, calculating guy look human, sympathetic.

He has said worse without any of those things happening.
