Boehner is a good man I believe but he is so interwoven into, oh no, here comes that word again, the Washington Establishment.
I wonder …

With Republicans shifting right (whilst Dems shift left, but let’s not get into that!) in recent years, do “Reagan Republicans” now fear that if they don’t back Cruz they will be seen as too moderate (or even liberal) to be anything more than a wing of the party? Will we soon be speaking of “the Reagan Wing of the GOP”?

Good. The Federal Government should not be in the business of telling States who they should offer in-state tuition rates to.
Their is nothing good about it, and for example the issue is exemplified with medical where state and federal differs and these people become victims of the dilemma and suffer as a result. And that is a post war result which needs address and not simple Cruz 1776 rantings.

Further the fact the that bills are bundled and undermine legitimate concerns is indicative of an issue, it doesn’t undermine a very real need overlooked in a bill, in fact its intentional. And also discussed by Ryan. 🤷 So there is no mutually exclusive in disregard of very real issues and needs.

FNC cancels presidential debate after Trump, Kasich withdraw

Now, for Donald Trump to surprise me, at this point, would take much more than refusing to have a debate.

However, what happened *after *that struck me as completely backwards: Cruz, who’s ahead of Kasich, was ready to debate him, yet Kasich said no.
Because believe it or not, the only reason an extra debate was set up is to bash trump. Without him there, what’s the point?

Wasn’t the debate scheduled long before they even knew who would still be left in the race?

And let’s be fair—who’s throwing the most jabs in this primary?

No this is an extra debate nobody knew was coming. If you want to go back to the very first debate and see who threw the first punch. You might be surprised.

Now there’s this:

Mitt Romney says he’s voting for Ted Cruz

Would you call this the second half of an endorsement speech? 😃
What’s ironic is that Romney is voting cruz in hope for an open convention. He doesn’t really want Cruz to be our nominee, only for him to stop trump and then to be kicked to the curb.

From your link:

“I will vote for Senator Cruz and I encourage others to do so as well, so that we can have an open convention and nominate a Republican,” Romney said.

If Romney actually said that, I find it pathetically sad. It shows that preserving their own interests is more important to them than representing those concerns of the people they are called to represent.

Maybe Sen. Cruz needs to first extent an olive branch to the establishment. I guess we’ll see.
Maybe, If he wants to try and unite the party but I don’t think it would be accepted. I doubt it would work, as Cruz is not well liked in the republican party, so he would have few takers.

However, I find it most troubling that Romney is voting for Cruz not because he wants him, but to block another candidate so as to take it to convention so they can slip someone of there choosing (not the people) to maintain their little oligarchy.

There is nothing to be done with these people but to defeat them. Trump will gain enough delegates. They will eat crow and have to turn around and make amends. It’ll be a delicious thing to see.

Gosh, what a strong endorsement.

Amen. It’s insulting. The whole thing is insulting. The people should decide the Party’s nominee and the people seem to be speaking quite vociferously.

Ted Cruz is my favorite candidate for President. He is a principled Tea Party conservative. He wants to return America to its founding ideals. He is strong on Judeo-Christian values.

That just made me think of SNL spoofing John McCain’s reputation as a “Maverick”:

Now don’t get me wrong, I think Cruz is like the *real *McCain, not SNL’s McCain. But I’m just wondering, have some voters gotten to the point where they just want their candidate to be hated by “Washington” and don’t even care the reasons for that hatred? :o
This is a very insightful question.

These days, Tea Party types regard being contrarian/obstructionist as a badge of honor, and Cruz raises that to a art form. I personally don’t care for Cruz (though would take him over Trump) as his views are too far- right for me (except his pro-life views… I’m dogmatic on that.)

Me too! 👍 He will defend the constitution and our bill of rights which IS what makes America great
