I think the only area that Trump doesn’t exceed Cruz are states where delegates are selected by party leaders.

I think there is a more reasonable argument that Cruz cannot be Clinton that Trump supporters would make.

Let’s look at this honestly, Trump is the person that most Republicans feel best represents them.

I’m just wondering how many of Pennsylvania’s unbound delegates Trump and woo over to his side. And I think Cruz has a chance in winner-take-all Indiana. I still see Trump arriving at the convention slight short of delegates.

Cruz won at least 65 of the 94 delegates up for grabs Saturday (and he may have won more, but Kentucky’s 25 delegates haven’t revealed their leanings). The Texas senator has so thoroughly dominated the fight to send loyalists to the national convention that if front-runner Donald Trump fails to clinch the nomination on the first ballot, Cruz is well-positioned to surpass him — and perhaps even snag the nomination for himself — when delegates are free in subsequent convention rounds to vote for whomever they want.

I think Cruz will be a spoiler for Trump, and I sure don’t think Trump will win on a second ballot. I see Cruz winning Indiana, but maybe I’m wrong. I often am. 😃 Okay, sometimes. Strangely, I think I’ve been more right than wrong this election. I see Trump just short of delegates by convention time. I’ll see how I do with that one. LOL

Can’t you register as a republican, vote Cruz , then switch back to independent later?

The polls have Trump up in Indiana, but he underperforms the polls, so we’ll see. Otherwise, Tuesday is going to be a good day for Trump.

If Trump is close, he should be able to get together enough unbound delegates to get to the nomination on the first ballot. He has a lot to potentially offer (key position in his campaign and/or key position in his administration).
