Possum socks are made of possum fur and really warm. The kiwis make great possum socks. They even have tincy shearing plants to shear the possums.

The Huka is a kiwi dance, a declaration of we are about to whip your arse.

Can I say arse here? Perhaps gluteus maximus.

The experts ….

The culprits …

The vehicle ,
Brilliant and entertaining ads! I really loved the second (the bulls driving the Hilux), and the cows at the end! 😂. I’m surprised they haven’t used that in Australia - it looks like just the sort of thing which would appeal here. The third has been used in Australia. It was famous in it’s day (early 90’s?) as a breakthrough in “vernacular” in advertising.

I’m hurt – truly, deeply hurt, that you would think that! I demand to know why! And I demand to know what all this “Hakka” stuff is!
@katy is the hakka expert here.

@LilyM is backup hakka expert.

Over to the ladies!

I know little to nothing about rugby, but my eldest son is a fan who played and has refereed. He’s the one who introduced me to the Hakka and I’ve enjoyed watching it ever since.

I got caught in a vicious thunder storm while driving one night. Blinding rain, hail, wind, along with thunder and lightning which occurred nearly simultaneous.

The lightning flashes were so frequent it was like having a strobe light in my face, so I pulled off the road into small shopping center’s parking lot and I was about 100 ft (30 m or so) away from a flag pole.

Shortly after parking the wind, rain and hail suddenly stopped and in my mind I was thinking tornado. I was about to leave the car and head inside one of the shops when I heard what sounded like a hammer rapidly pounding on that flag pole. The flag pole was also vibrating back and forth rapidly as well. That is when the lightning hit that pole along a very loud clap of thunder.

I am really glad I did not leave the car, and I am also glad no tornado touched down either.

Ok. I know I’m odd. For many years, I kept a bagful of my longhair white cat’s fur, until I accumulated enough to knit a pair of socks. Oddly soft and warm.

Can you just knit cat hair out of the bag? Don’t you need to spin it or something?

Nope. Needed to be spun into yarn first. Handspun. One of my sisters showed me that trick when she came out for a visit years ago.

Out of respect of the traditions and culture of my fellow Maaori, I feel that this video explanation will give you insight, knowledge and understanding into the history of the Haka

Born and raised in Indiana… Yep. I had a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich for dinner.

Thanks! I didn’t realize there was more to it than getting the team into a fighting spirit.
