Curmudgeons Under Down

I’m doing some research to see how to make homemade apple fritters so I can experiment with healthier yet deeply satisfying alternatives.

If I really want an apple fritter, however, I can budget for one at some point. But not yet. Right now, I just really need to say no and develop some discipline. This is like my personal Lent before real Lent.
 
Lent before Lent. Yeah, last night I tried sleeping on the floor as a test run before Lent actually starts. Turns out I couldn’t do it. After an hour, I got up and got back in my bed. I feel rather bad about that but better to find out now than during Lent.

My son is 14 now and has to abstain from meat this Lent. He’s already complaining about it. The child LOVES meat.

When he told me how this was going to be sooooo hard for him, I responded, “That’s the point, dear.”

He laughed at that. And then I promised him salmon – his favorite fish – for Fridays.

He’s an expensive date. ❤️

Nope. I am right there with you on that.
 
I slept on a bed with no pillow and just a very thin slatted bamboo mat on a wooden frame in India for
about 4 months.My body just adjusted after a few days and it was actually comfortable.
 
Yes. I suppose I need at least a little something soft under me.

We modern folks are too soft.

I decided to make my own coffee – the bathtub’s not draining so I had a good starter brew – and am gonna finish my cuppa joe and head to bed.

I brought some pencils to feed all the crazy people here.

I guess were not allowed to feed bread to the ducks anymore? Figures. 😠

Now I’m down to feeding pencils to crazy people. 😠

I’ll drink the shopping cart 😠 thankyouverymuch. Wipe it down with a Lysol wipe and I’m good. 😠
 
I noticed that you can purchase moonshine at Meijer now.😮 IT even comes in a canning jar. That really takes away the spirit of avoiding the revenuers around here.😣

The city where I used to live had to post signs to keep people from feeding bread to the ducks. Apparently it can lead to constipation. Luckily, a nearby store started selling shelled corn to feed to the ducks.
