No, I don’t think that it was the flu, although it’s possible.

I was doing my best to stay away from the hospital and the doctor’s office again, as I was just there last week for a check-in appt. Ironically, I am thinking that that was where I picked this up–from being in the hospital and at the doctor’s office, as his office is inside of the hospital.

I think that it is perhaps some kind of a Gastro. virus. I got sick earlier at the beginning of the week.

I was doing everything that I could to take care of myself here at home, to make myself more comfortable while the worst of it passed.

It’s probably a norovirus. It’s made the news this week because there was a huge outbreak in the Olympic Village a couple of days ago, but I’ve been hearing about outbreaks all over the place for the last couple of weeks.

That’s what I was thinking too, because the symptoms were mainly gastro., if you get my meaning without going into the icky details.

I’ve had the flu, and it hits you suddenly with major body aches and pains, and it also hits your respiratory system too, where you can’t breathe easily.

This didn’t do that. I had a bit of a fever, but it didn’t last very long, and it was pretty low-grade. I’m finally turning around, but I do have chronic GI issues as it is, so that’s not helping.

My husband also has it too, and he turned around a bit faster than I did, but he’s in better health than I am.

Thankfully, we’re both doing better, anyway.

This sure is really nasty that’s for sure, and I hope that people can try and avoid it, if possible. 😞

It has been a long time since I have been ill with a virus like this one.

I can remember them going around like this when I was in Elementary School. It was quite common for us to get ill like this during the school year.

When I’ve had problems like that, I’ve found that eating something like Activia (with the live biocultures) helped stabilize my system pretty quickly.

Yes…

I can see that helping.

I take a daily probiotic, too.

I laid off of regular food at first, and was just drinking a sports drink/electrolyte drink, and eating apple sauce as I could tolerate it and sipping water.

I made a smaller pot of some home-made chicken noodle soup for us tonight as we both felt well enough to eat it.

I’m just so thankful that we made it through this, as neither of us are getting any younger.

I told my husband that if I couldn’t turn around by Thursday, that I would call our doctor’s office. If anything, I know enough not to compromise my health in any way.

I was doing everything carefully at home, to take care of myself.

I have a “checklist,” if you will, of things that I can do when I’m ill, to monitor myself, and I know what I’m supposed to do if anything gets worse.

I could watch that till the sun comes up ,kind of sleepily intreguing,a dash of rediculous but obvious fun 😴

We had a similar set of wording going yesterday on one of these threads.

Is it really Edmundus or Edmundthem?

😊😊😊

My username Edmundus is taken from St Edmund Campion, the English Jesuit convert and saint of the Elizabethan era.

He had escaped England and was living in Prague, when the Jesuits selected him in their first mission to the recusant (ie. faithful) English Catholics - which was punishable as “treason”. The night before his departure his fellows at the Jesuit house placed a sign over his cell: “Pater Edmundus Campianus, Martyr”. He worked among English Catholics during 1580 and 1581, eventually being captured and executed by hanging, drawing and quartering. He never waivered under torture or in his trial.

It’s also the name of the pet wombat I don’t have.

I stand in absolute awe of those people. What love of God and their neighbor! I have a lovely missal published recently under the title of St. Edmund Campion.

I snuck in and raided your refrigerator :yum:However, I left you some cigars 😒🚬

Are you sure you took the right turn at Albuquerque? My refrigerator looked empty this morning, and I found this box of really cheap cigars on my countertop.

Oh, I just realised how old and stale this thread is…
12 hours 🧐 there’s probably mould and lichen growing on it too.
Bucket of suds ,sleeves rolled up and scrubbing brush working vigorously…
