I just got back from the World News Forum :frowning_face_with_open_mouth: It’s pretty bad … I threw in some conspiracy theories for good measure.

OK, I’ll try to explain… See, there’s this game called Pokemon (which means "pocket monster) that’s been around since 1996. It comes from Japan, where cuteness is highly valued.

The most well-known and most beloved of all the Pokemon is a character named Pikachu (the yellow creature pictured below).

Pokemon was originally a card game (see card below), then a series of anime cartoons and movies, then video games, and most recently, an “augmented reality” game called Pokemon Go (see bottom image) which people play on their phones.

If you want more information about Pokemon, ask a male between the ages of 14 and 28 – that seems to be the largest demographic involved.

That explains it as I rarely watch TV, and I play card games like poker or hearts.
