I’ve noticed that he’s been quiet for a couple of weeks. I hope he’s OK.

I had a look through his previous posts to see if he had announced any plans for a departure or rest. This is his last post. He’s not sleeping, but made made no announcements. Let’s keep him and his family in our prayers.

While looking back, I saw this. He got some replies at the time, but I’d like to add my own…

I haven’t seen the film Australia, but from what I’ve seen of it it seems to be a reasonable picture of our own romantic version of ourselves. The scenery is real, even the depictions of outback ranches and country towns. Hugh Jackman’s character looked overworked to me - more a Hollywood type than an outback Aussie (but that’s just from the trailer).

Yes, Australians do think of America as full of crazies with guns. We also think there are a majority of friendly, “Howdy pardner!!!” types (with guns). As @greenfields said, we don’t get why you think of Australia as a dangerous place when you’ve got the tornadoes, guns and continent-wide ice storms.

I’m pretty sure @(name removed by moderator) said he was gonna be off CAF for Lent – he talked about whether or not his “Things That Go Bump In the Night” thread would survive his absence.

I keep checking it to make sure someone’s posting there. If no one does, I’ll jump in with some idiotic comment to keep it alive.
