Irish Gal, you’re adorable. If you ever visit Ohio, I’ll hold you and let you cry on my shoulder.

Ohio rocks(Hocking Hills). We couldn’t spend a lot of time together, but I’m sure I could meet up with you at-least once!

I would be VERY careful meeting up with someone that you don’t know. Especially, with the information you have posted here.

I am glad to hear your doing better 🙂 I wish I would have came across this thread a long time ago to help. As some have said don’t stop praying even when you feel alone know that Jesus is always always with you and listening to you. There are times in my life I am an emotional reck and suffering from insomnia, I will just tell me self to stop! then I start talking to Jesus in my head, praying and begging for his help. Then something amazing happens, I smile and end up with this wonderful calmness! and sweetly fall asleep knowing he is there with me 🙂 and like everyone said, don’t even give up! Right now things are tough but it won’t always be that way I promise you, it takes years sometimes it did for me. But, everything will be ok and you will be ok. I don’t agree that your priest walked away from you 😦 not at this moment. I know maybe it’s not his job to be your therapist but what if you where to walk away from the church crying and had an accident!. I wish no one would turn you away 😦 I was a mess for years and was turned away at times from friends and church leaders (it’s why I left the protestant church). I needed them, I had lost both my adoptive parents, was pregnant with my 3rd child and had no one to run to. But, after years gone by I am ok now. You will be too 🙂

As, far as your addiction whatever it may be (I don’t know if you mentioned what it was I haven’t read all the messages yet). Maybe when you feel the urge to do it come on here, or another catholic site. Catholictv is awesome. It helps me. I am new to this site so I am so happy that I found it. It can take your mind off things or even use it as an escape from sinning. Especially if you watch a mass or pray the rosary, the rosary is a powerful thing.

I wish you the best and will add you to my prayer list 🙂

Yes, exactly.

And quite honestly, I’m not sure why that offer would even be posted on this thread.

I just interpreted it as light-hearted banter, to be honest.
Yes, I know how that works. Light-hearted banter, then a PM etc, etc. But maybe that’s all it was. I don’t know the poster’s heart. I just agree that considering the topic at hand, that kind of banter, can be dangerous.

I have to say, when I read the first post about it, I was :eek::eek:

Then I was :tsktsk::tsktsk:

Banter or not, it was not appropriate on this thread.

One church I know of that did have daily confessions was St. Peter’s in Chicago’s Loop. They had different confessors, too, so if you wanted to go to someone else, you would get to pick. Too bad they don’t have that everywhere.

As far as the problem you have, it seems to me that it is self-loathing and anger. Having a divorce and seeing your ex with his girlfriend, and his humiliating you by saying you are stupid only reinforces this negative energy. Sometimes self abusive actions are not really pleasurable, but they help get rid of tension and anger temporarily. If you could find something else that gives you joy and affirmation, this urge you speak of may evaporate.

Maybe finding out about the possibility of an annulment could also keep your mind occupied. It would give you somewhere to channel your energy and empower you to do something to help yourself. That would be good if you want to pursue another relationship in the future. Could be a new hobby or something fun and different would help as well.
