As Stephen Colbert said, he buys his wedding rings in bulk.I just presume he was referring to Newt’s revolvng line of credit for jewelry.

Why is what Newt Gingrich spending his earned money on being turned into an attack. Here apparently was Rick Perry’s take on Romney’s offer to bet him $10,000. " I was taken a little aback" by Mitt Romney’s wager, Perry said on Fox News Sunday, Politico reports. “Driving out to the station this morning I’m pretty sure I didn’t drive by a house that anyone in Iowa would think a $10,000 bet was possible. It was a little out of touch with the normal Iowa citizen.”
But then Romney supporter John H Sununu had this to say. “He used a figure of speech,” Sununu said. “I think the only thing that will come out of that is to remind people about a $500,000 outstanding bill at Tiffany’s.”

Because Romney can’t attack Newt on the issues, because Romney is vulnerable on the issues. Why is what Newt Gingrich spending his earned money on being turned into an attack.![]()
Double that.
Yeah…I’m sure you’re right.Always good to have a back up plan.![]()
Why do you think that is? I’ve heard he has extensively travelled the state. His message and family life is one that I would think would appeal to the conservative voter. It puzzles me why he has not done better for instance among the Iowa GOP voters in the polls. So many others have had their moments in the sun before falling off. But Rick Santorum just never seemed to have his.Yeah…I’m sure you’re right.Rick’s not exactly soaring up in the polls.
Rick Perry came in with huge momentum and sailed into the lead without ‘firing a shot.’ He then proceeded to perfrom abysmally in the debates. I mean it was PAINFUL to watch him. Further his bristling defense of in state tuition for illegals with the snarky “If you don’t wan’t this you don’t have a heart” was a shot through his. I remember hearing that comment and thinking ‘well you’re toast.’ It’s fine to have a disagreement and to explain that this is something supported by Texans for Texas but it’s quite another to disparage the many Americans who disagree with offering magnets for illegals. Why do you think that is? I suspect all the people in the forum who like Obama are cheering for Gingrich. Same agenda. Why is Gingrich getting so much support? This is a guy who has supported an individual mandate, has supported abortions, has trashed the Ryan plan for balancing the budget, and was a lobbyist for Fannie Mae which was a major player in the housing bubble. This is the conservative candidate?
Same here. I think if he has a strong showing in Iowa he actually has a shot at the nomination. I honestly think that if he wins the nomination he will be the next President of the United States. He has the most appeal to independents and disaffected Democrats.I’m still hoping for a Paul-Obama race.
They would be happier with Paul simply because, well, Paul isn’t as presidential as Obama. He speaks the truth but he doesn’t put it as eloquently. I agree with Ron Paul on almost every point, but I truly don’t think he could beat Obama (sadly because half of the voters actually know the issues and take time to think about them). That’s what I’ve heard from political insiders. They say that Obama is pleased if Gingrich gets the nomination. He’s a weaker opponent. I would certainly think so. I’m still hoping for a Paul-Obama race.
I’m tired of “presidential” presidents. They’ve allowed this country to lose its dominant position in the world and instead we are left with a decaying economy and infrastructure. I don’t want another president. I want someone who stands for principles that I agree with, and who actually stands for them, unlike most candidates who just do whatever is convenient. They would be happier with Paul simply because, well, Paul isn’t as presidential as Obama. As do I, but I would rather have a Republican in the White House than four more years of Obama. I am sure you know as well as I do that most Americans, and even most Americans that vote, don’t look at the issues, so looking the part does matter unfortunately.I’m tired of “presidential” presidents. Ginrich is the one candidate that will ‘give it’ to Obama. He is not afraid to speak up against the liberal Obama supporting media as well. The other candidates either seem “too nice” or can’t speak clearly about what is wrong with Obama’s agenda. Gingrich is tough and aggressive and we’re all tired of being political punching bags while Obama (or Pelosi or Reid or Axelrod or Plouffe) spew out absolute lies and the press never calls them out.Why is Gingrich getting so much support? Well, not to be technical, but most would say Paul stands for nothing, literally in that he always says no. I personally agree with what he says no to, but I wouldn’t say Gingrich doesn’t speak for anything. I really wish we could scientifically combine Rick Santorum and Ron Paul; they would make a pretty good candidate. In other words, Gingrich speaks well, even if he doesn’t stand for anything? So then what’s the difference between him and Obama? Seriously, how are they fundamentally different?
Paul stands for nothing? He follows the classical liberal tradition and follows Austrian economist. He is the only one that stands for anything.Well, not to be technical, but most would say Paul stands for nothing, literally in that he always says no.
