No matter what side of the divide you are on, when you don’t vote [or vote for a third party candidate], you are helping the candidateI recently abstained in my state’s Gubernatorial election. It killed me to do so … but we had two champions of a non-negotiable for “choices” (pun intended) and I decided since I couldn’t vote against both of them, I could at least not vote for either. It seemed better than voting for one of them (and then you’ve voted for the non-negotiable to some extent) … or supporting the lesser of two evils and hoping that one would be more likely to convert or be pressured by their “otherwise better on the matter” party … to do the right thing. It’s a tough call.
… “What I did was allowed”.
