The founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET) lauded President Donald Trump for the booming U.S. economy and blasted Democrats as going too far left with their policy proposals.

During an interview with [CNBC], BET Founder Robert Johnson — a Democrat — applauded the [economy] under Trump, saying that he gave ā€œthe president a lot of credit for moving the economy in a positive directionā€ and that the 2017 Republican tax cuts ā€œclearly helped stimulate the economy.ā€

ā€œI give the president a lot of credit for moving the economy in a positive direction that’s benefiting a large amount of Americans,ā€ said Johnson. ā€œI think the tax cuts clearly helped stimulate the economy. I think business people have more confidence in the way the economy is going.ā€

Historically, Democrats were on sound ground rejecting Republican hyperbole about their views. These days, however, when you look at the array of positions in the party, from the rank and file to prominent 2020 contenders, ā€œopen bordersā€ is starting to have the ring of truth.

I am glad that the link admits the that claim have been around a long time and has been false.
But now all of sudden we should believe that it is really true. Malarkey.

l don’t see how it possibly can given the Dem majority in the House.
House races are different, incumbents have money and they can downplay the issues in the survey yet still rile the dem base. I don’t think they will take ground in the Senate, but also don’t yet see a compelling GOP agenda to sweep the house.

If you were looking to have free stuff promised to you, last night’s debate was for you. Free health care, free college, free entry into the country…the only ā€œfreeā€ that didn’t warrant a mention from anyone on the stage was individual freedom.

Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren clashed with Tim Ryan and John Delaney over how far left the party should go, while ā€œGuruā€ Marianne Williamson talked about ā€œdark psychic forcesā€ and Pete Buttigieg bashed Christians for not raising the minimum wage.

It was so far left that even CNN and MSNBC hosts talked about how wildly unpopular many of the ideas being sold are with the general public.

This doesn’t look good at all for the Democrats. However, based on the 2016 election, can we really trust polls?

Seems they put all the crazies on the first night. Tonight will feature a tad more reasonability?

Be interesting to see how far Gabbard gets sidelined on night 2. She’s been mostly shut out of the news and her polling numbers show it. Most unfortunate. If she goes, there will be no more debate among the Dems about the ā€œforeverā€ wars.

Maybe Emanuel is right, but he might not be. Dems might just support such an agenda.

I’m certainly skeptical of polling after the 2016 election, but let me ask this: which possible 2-4 candidates do you believe will still be standing on stage when it finally boils down?

My concern for 2020

Gabbard was again the most searched candidate on Google during the debate according to Google Trends. She’s also got thousands of tweets going every minute, but Twitter wouldn’t let her trend until they were called out for it. The big boys are attempting to shut her out. In your face manipulation.
