Then why are posters here going through such logical gymnastics to either rationalize or justify Rosen’s remarks?

To quote another poster, from a different thread with similar topic:

…it is inconceivable to me that the echoing of vile insults was defended and excused for pages on end…

Apart from wiping a baby’s behind (which I can image she did do) I seriously doubt Ann Romney knows what it is like to scrub pee from around a toilet floor or remove boogers from a wall.

My guess is that she paid a maid to do those sort of things for her - just like Mitt paid a lawn company who hired illegals to do his yard work.

So, if Ann Romney does not do the sort of maid work you associate with being a mother - does that mean anything about her role as a mother. NO. However, it does mean something with respect to how well she understands the lives of average working women - who are mothers and maids and a whole lot more.

Justify what? **She apologized! **

The real question is why do posters refuse to accept her apology?

An attorney for the prestigious Rose Law Firm in Little Rock, a Secretary of State, and a Senator who was praised for her hard work and willingness to work with conservatives by none other than Orrin Hatch were three of her professions.

I gave $1,000 to her campaign in '87 and still think her better as president than Obama, Romney, McCain, and the rest on either side - put together!.

hear such trash-talk that defined the extremists of women’s rights in the '70s.

I’m sorry if this comes across rude, but this is just me and how I live my life;

What offends me is that anybody would think themselves appointed to make statements about what goes on in other people’s homes, or how they parent. That’s between that lady, her husband, and her kids - no one else is there so no one else should speak on it.

This is so much more than the GOP is ever willing to offer when they make offensive statements. Rick Santorum still owes the entire nation of Denmark an apology for saying the elderly there need to wear special bracelets to avoid being euthanized if they go to the hospital. Alan West is currently running amuck claiming that the entire Congressional Progressive Caucus are Communists (which is worthy of a thread itself).

All this outrage just show how desperate the GOP is for a woman’s issue they can champion. Unfortunately, there is nobody taking the other side, so how can it really be an issue?

The GOP needs to deal with its own women problems: Women = Womyn = Wyrm = Catepillers! - Do you think that’s where Reince Priebus got the idea or have I been reading too much Tolkien?

Hilary Rosen has been to the White House more than Secretary of defense Panetta, she has personally met with Barack Obama 5 times, she has been to the White House 35 times. Hilary Rosen’s firm has been paid by the Democrat National Committee. She is no rogue pundit. This may speak of a larger problem with the White House and fairness towards women, women are paid 18% less than men in the White House,

This thread is not about Allen West.

That a woman of her means has a maid and probably a cook wouldn’t be a guess. I’d be surprised if she didn’t.

If you are talking about my source for Mitt Romney paying a lawn company who hired illegals to do his yard work - that would be Rick Perry, the governor of Texas and former Republican front-runner. Didn’t you watch the debates?

Because she apologized for using the wrong words, not for the actual intent of the content. Its like shooting someone with a .45, then saying “I’m sorry, let me shoot you with a .22 instead.”

How do you know Ann has a maid?

Haven’t you read the story of how she and Mitt lived in a apartment that cost $62 a month, how they struggled. So she can identify to average working women. I read she would go to college and sit at the back of the class, breastfeeding while trying to hear teacher in the front. They weren’t always wealthy, and she has struggled with MS and breast cancer treatment while bringing up 5 children.
