Democrats now critical of Rice's Benghazi explanation, amid more damaging evidence

Yes Abyssinia always keeps us up to date on new developments. I was relieved to read that Ambassador Stevens’ body did not show signs of torture or abuse. It was interesting what kind of negotiations and inside assistance were necessary to retrieve Stevens’ body. There had originally been a report of a potential kidnapping or hostage situation. Makes you wonder why forces were not IMMEDIATELY marshaled for a rescue.

Also relieved to see that this is FINALLY catching up with Mrs Clinton. I truly do not know how she skated through a totally undistinguished SoS tenure that ended with a horrible event for which she had at least some responsibility. Although the article still claims she is the leading candidate for 2016, it’s a long time and we all know how well the early leaders have done in the past…President Guiliani anyone?

Perhaps the dragging out of these scandals will keep our memories fresh for 2016. It would be truly horrible if people forgot about the corruption of the Democratic regime.

I suspect if these scandals are as deep and wide as it sounds, we will not forget. I haven’t forgotten WATERGATE and that was when I was in High School. Many have recently invoked Watergate so something significant will stay in the memory banks. Even in our CAF discussions we’ve heard about Iran Contra, Monica Lewinsky and other past scandals. Something about this kind of news story that stays with you. Apparently Peggy Noonan’s column today speaks of the American people who now realize the government thinks of us as a target and doesn’t mind shooting at us via the IRS. This kind of betrayal will not be forgiven or forgotten.

Also we have the 2014 races and the will hopefully allow for more fair elections without suppression of the Conservative groups as with 2012 as well as allowing us to see how various politicians respond to the scandals.

Hillary will be 78 years old in 2016, I saw pictures of Barbara Eden at 78 years old just in recent news stories in her ‘I dream of Genie’ outfit with Former President Bill Clinton but I think in the long run, a lot of this is taking a toll on Hillary.

She will be 68, not 78 - so still young enough. I think it will all take a toll on Hillary. But then again, never underestimate voters on the dole and a press that will protect its own. I mean, that’s how we got Obama.

thanks ishii - I thought 78 sounded pretty old for Hillary!! I know she lost her mother in the last few years and I think her mother had been a great comfort and supporter for Hillary so I don’t know how she will do in the future without her mother around. not sure what her relationship with bill is like these days. I just know they would both love to have the power of being back in the white house again. I just keep seeing the clip of her losing her cool while testifying before the committee about what happened at Benghazi and yelling “at this point what difference does it make!!” and that did it for me. I was never a Hillary supporter and that only reinforced why I am not.

I do not think for one second she ‘lost her cool.’ That was a planned statement to obfuscate, bluster and avoid answering the question. I thought she looked stiff and the pseudo outrage totally contrived. Further it was snarky to the extreme and belied a disregard for the men who died while under her service. I would expect contrition, and regret in such a case but it was all about spin. I truly detest that her concern for her political future exceeds concern about the horrors everyone at the Consulate were subjected to that night. I simply cannot imagine what they went through. I remember Shawn Smith’s mother speaking of one photo where it looked like the tracks of bloody handprints on the wall…the blood trail descended as if tracing the last seconds of someone’s life. Mrs Smith said “Was that my son’s blood on that wall?”

How do these incompetent and immoral people gain high office? I truly do not understand such a lack of conscious.

Yes, of course it was contrived, like Obama answering if he knew about the IRS scandal, he says to that something like “I’ve seen the IG report” and yes, that response is almost Clintonesque, many have come to the conclusion that was rehearsed.

Yes more than a few noted how he parsed his words, not speaking of the IRS activities but that he’d heard about the IG report when it was “leaked” by a planted question at some bar association meeting…

No shame, any of them. I don’t know if you were around when Watergate happened but I remembered how stunned we were to realize that our government and our President had been lying to us. Maybe we were hopelessly naive…of course my Democrat parents claimed what do you expect…Nixon’s a REPUBLICAN boo hiss! Everyone knows election season promises tend to go by the wayside once the candidate is safely in office. But to know that the President and his circle had this totally secret life where various plots were hatched in the proverbial smoke filled room.

Honestly I believe the election of Jimmy Carter had to do more with his being an outsider and thus supposedly not corrupted by the Beltway. That may also have been Obama’s appeal as a seeming outsider versus the Clintons who were Beltway veterans at both politics and creative spin. I remember the famous line by David Geffen:

,*** “Everybody in politics lies, but (the Clintons) do it with such ease, it’s troubling.” He said a lot more that was derogatory specifically to Hillary Clinton, but that’s the key statement, since Geffen is obviously referring to both Clintons. After all, it was Hillary who enabled Bill’s lies time and again. Now, America is being told — and by a former Clinton benefactor, no less — that there’s more where that came from.***

The leopard doesn’t change her spots, just because she went from the White House into the State Department.

Bingo. That fake outrage/yelling moment was rehearsed 100 times the days before her testimony. They tried out several different ones to see which one worked best. They had her practice, practice, practice, and practice some more to make sure she did it just right. It was intentional, and it was used to scare the wimpy Republicans from going on the attack.
