1.Murder

Law. the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law. In the U.S., special statutory definitions include murder committed with malice aforethought, characterized by deliberation or premeditation or occurring during the commission of another serious crime, as robbery or arson (first-degree murder), and murder by intent but without deliberation or premeditation (second-degree murder).
And there you have an accurate description of abortion.

I can understand and appreciate it, I just hope I never have to be in such a position. I just watched an excellent film called “Out of the Ashes” about a Jewish German gynecologist who was in Auschwitz. On her first day, she learned that pregnant women were taken immediately to the gas chamber. After that, she aborted 1000 women during her stay there, in the hope they could survive, and get pregnant again after they were liberated.
I do not want to venture too far off OT but “Out of the Ashes” was based on a story that has been told by 2 different Hungarian (not German) women, Olga Lengyel and Gisela Perl. Both accounts contain so many contradictions and errors of fact about not only events in the camp but also the family and backgrounds of the authors themselves that they can only be viewed as fiction. The one that you mention, that “pregnant women were taken immediately to the gas chamber” is known to be incorrect because the camp records list over 600 live births by name, date, and inmate number assigned to the baby (imagine being given an “inmate number” at birth). It is a good story but it has no historical value. It is a sad fact that since the events in the camp were so horrible people tend to automatically believe anything horrible that is said by anyone and all of these false accounts just provide more ammo to those who say the holocaust is one big hoax.

As this is in the “non-Catholic Religion Forum”, does the OP consider the Democrat Party a religion?

At selection on the platform, most visibly pregnant women were sent to die; so were babies, children, the obviously sick and the elderly. Others were spared for use as slave labour or fodder for medical experimentation.

Some of the inmates in Camp C, Auschwitz’s barrack for Hungarian Jewish women and girls, were able to bring their pregnancies to term, but their babies were almost invariably taken from them right after and killed – “mercifully” strangled to death by Jewish inmate doctors forced to work for the Nazis.

Most pregnancies never got that far; the usual clandestine practice was to abort fetuses before they could be born – a life-saving measure for the mother, who was an easy target for liquidation if her pregnancy became too obvious.

If you are pro-life, why don’t you call them babies?

A lot of what you say here is commonly believed but false and a lot of it is based on fictional stories like “Out of the Ashes”. The large groups of children pictured in the photos taken by Soviet soldiers upon reaching the camp (none of which you see very often because a shocking number of the inmates look uncharacteristically healthy) and the camp records captured by the Soviets indicate no policy of mandatory killing of children or pregnant women was in place. As I said, the records show over 600 births throughout the entire Birkenau complex. You can see some of these photos on CNN’s site. Notice that in all of these people you only see 2 men that are visibly thin. Click on the “War and Liberation” gallery and then “Liberation”.

Anyway, we are drifting off topic as I did not want to. If you want to discuss this further (I have been studying the European Theater of WWII for over 30 years) we can do so by PM.

I think the best way to fight for less abortions is for us to keep doing what we’re doing which is educating others and speaking out against it. I am feeling like abortion will never be illegal again no matter which political party is in control. I also feel like even if abortion was illegal, people would do it anyway. Drugs are illegal and that doesnt stop people from doing drugs. However, if abortion was illegal the number of abortions would be sure to decrease.

because there was no written policy of killing pregnant women (not children) you think it didn’t happen? children could work. Pregnant women and infants were a liability. So they were murdered first. I’ve never actually spoken with someone who took the position that the victims of Aushwitz – that survived – were healthy. That’s a new one.

did you read the captions of the photos before you posted?

Those pictures that you apparently believe paint such a rosy picture of camp life, are pictures of jews arriving at the camp. You are looking at the before pictures.

How do we get from healthcare and the democratic party to nazi death camps?

Abortion is not healthcare, you add healthcare to the topic and not abortion.

What is your basis in your belief that abortion is not murder.

Again, what does Nazi death camps have to do with the assertion that abortions go down when women have access to affordable health care and education on adoption and contraception?

I never said it had anything to do with the original post so not sure why you respond to me on this.

No wonder you have such a wierd position on abortion. You can not understand even the most simple collection of photos. The ones I talked about are the ones in the section titled LIBERATION and are clearly identified as being of prisoners upon the arrival of the Soviet liberators. “Liberation” speaks of when they were released and has nothing to do with people arriving. Can you not read or are you just making things up? These photos are very familiar to those of us who study and the condition of the people in them is self-explanitory. The fact that most of them appear well-fed and relatively healthy is not my opinion, it is obvious and it does not mean that no one was mistreated. I guess it is pointless to continue to discuss anything with someone who ignores, or simply can not understand clearly indentified photos captioned in simple english and instead just makes something up.

Nothing, that is why I said I did not want to venture OT as you have insisted on doing instead of using PMs.

Well, the Democrats do share a lot of their positions: gun control, government control of health care, government control of personal habits, government control of personal wealth for the benefit of the whole state, government control of the use of private land, essentially government control of EVERYTHING.
