Has anybody seen the new series called lucifer and what do you think of it?

Mark 16, I forget the verse. It says, “the signs that follow believers. We can pray in tongues w interpretation. We can lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. We can cast out demons in His name.” Do not go to horror movies and/or get involved with the occult. Astrology, ouigi boards, visit fortune tellers.

BTW God has your back… you should be immune to demons if you acknowledge God having your back. Demons be punks. I kinda want to be at the final battle in revelation… O.o so much fun to be had… eh probably have to show mercy though… I still think God has some extra under His sleeve.

If you note, I say GOD has your back, you are immune IF you acknowledge GOD…I can’t get much more all about God than that.

I also said I would like to be there…if God has any kind of army with which we can be called to participate why would I not? I signed up for it for the USA, HOW could I not be 10000x more ready and willing to serve HE who gave me everything???

In serving Him I would only be carrying out His orders…which He has routinely used others to serve his vengeance…it is his, but I would be a willing tool.

I also note the great grace and mercy of God that I might not even get to be said tool since I may be ordered to lay down arms and show a repentant being mercy…

I didn’t think I was going to have to explain all this in detail 😛

There are different types of demons, if the author of “Interview with an Exorcist” is correct. I can’t find my copy at the moment, but if I do I’ll quote what he had to say. It’s a pretty handy rsource on the issues of demons, and in some respects, the spiritual world as a whole.

The fact they’re fallen angels doesn’t change their underlying “personalities”, just as human beings have underlying personalities whether they’re “saints” or “sinners”. If a sinner becomes a saint, or vice versa, the raw material of their basic personality will remain unchanged.

Before I became Christian, I was an introvert. I’ve been a Christian now for about 34 years I suppose, and I’m still introverted. I might have become a bit more charitable, and less judgmental, but my basic personality is still the same.

I think it depends on the horror movie. I mean, don’t watch them so much anymore, but I used to quite like them. Many of them have a round-a-bout moral lesson.

Just to clarify, “Cherubim” and “Seraphim” are plural, the singular of these terms would be “Cherub” and “Seraph” respectively. As for the matter of insanity, all sentient Beings, physical or Metaphysical, are insane. Sanity is a term we humans use to denote conformity, and thus if the Demons are non-conformist (as they are) they can be considered, ipso-facto, insane. however, sanity is really not for humans to decide, as we are all "insane’ in our own ways. We only put on a front for social reason to pretend to conform to the ideas and oinions of the group-mind, whatever it may be (cultural, religious, political or what-not). “Evil” is a moral value-judgement, not an objective standard, and has no place in the spiritual dimension of things, again being a matter of purely human opinion.“Choosing evil” is therefore neither inane per se, or in any way relevent to higher realities.

I had a clean up this afternoon, putting some books in boxes, and found my copy of the above book while I was doing it (… I’ve got a bad habit of buying too many books!).

So, to quote Fr. Jose Fortea, author of “Interview with an Exorcist”, he deals with this question almost at the very start of his book with the second question -

No. We have already seen that each demon sinned in a certain way and with a determined intensity. While the angelic rebellion against God had its roots in pride, from this root other sins grew. This can be clearly seen during an exorcism, when the particular demons possessing the person display sins of anger, self-worship, and desperation, among others. Each demon has its own psychology and its own way of being. For example, some are talkative, others are mocking; some are proud, others hateful. Even though they are all turned away from God, some demons are more evil than others.

As St. Paul and the tradition of the Church indicate, we need to remember that there are nine hierarchies of angels (form highest to lowest); seraphim, cherubim, thrones, dominions, virtues, powers, principalities, archangels, and angels. The superior hierarchies are more powerful. beautiful and intelligent than the inferior ones. According to St. Thomas Aquinas, each angel is completely different from other angels. In sociological terms, there are no angelic “races”; rather, each one is its own species. As we have said, though, it is possible to group the angels into hierarchies. These hierarchies are also called* choirs*, since these groups form themselves into choirs that sing praises to God. Their praise is obviously not that of a voice, but rather a spiritual type of praise that comes from their will to know and love the Trinity.

Because some angels from each of the hierarchies sinned and transformed themselves into demons, a demonic hierarchy exists. In other words, there are demons that are principalities, virtues, powers, etc. Even though they are demons, they retain their particular angelic power and intelligence.

Exorcisms have shown that superior demons can have power over inferior ones. What does this power consist of? This is something that is impossible for us to know because we cannot see how one demon forces another to do something, since there is no body to push or force. Nevertheless, a more powerful demon can prevent a less powerful one from leaving the body of a possessed person during an exorcism. Even though the weaker demon is suffering and wants to leave, the stronger one may impede it.

Yes. There are nine levels of angels (from highest to lowest):

Seraphim
Cherubim
Thrones
Dominions
Virtues
Powers
Principalities
Archangels
Angels

There is a similar arrangement of demons since they, too, were part of this hierarchy before their fall. More on that here.

We start our lives as innocence. Baptism removes original sin. Adam and Eve were innocent in the garden of Eden. Temptation led them to disobedience. They wanted the knowledge that God had. The knowledge of good and evil. If they obeyed God, they never would have learned about evil. Now, we know evil. Satan was given control of the earth. Good things are found down a clean, cement road. Evil things are found down a muddy,swampy road that sucks you down. Which road is the better of the two to take?
Your Mom serves you 2 plates of food for supper. One has poison on it. The other nourishing clean food. What do you want in your body?
A movie, may not be demonic in of itself but what effect does it have on your spirit.?
That is how your life choices can affect your spiritual growth and relation with Jesus.
SEEK YE, FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND EVERYTHING ELSE WILL BE ADDED UNTO YOU.
I hope that gives you insight. Evil spirits only come in when invited.

The church has a school for exorcisms in Rome now. They plan to have an exorcist in each diocese. Rome admits the evil has increased. The movie,“THE RITE” is accurate per our parish priest.

It is better to take the clean road. I would want the plate with clean food. I doubt that horror movies can be bad spiritually in general though.

Horror movies can make you aware of horrible things. Sounds stupid. You need to know about the real evil in the world and how you have power over it
I hAve been praying with 2 individuals who have had dangerous thoughts in their heads. They have threads started and still need prayers. Rosaline was suicidal and hears voices in her head to kill herself and hurt other people. I haven’t heard from her since Feb 20th, I think. All she had done was watch horror movies. I checked the morgue out in her city and didn’t see any persons w her name or description. Kontrak has a thread, hears voices is under psychiatric care. Again, voices say to injure himself and his family. He loves them very much. I encouraged him to continue praying, tell Dad the meds haven’t worked yet. Talk to his priest. I am waiting for reply. I told him not to keep secrets from Dad. MAYBE he shared this site and his Dad doesn’t want him to use it. He really would rather have the voices be evil where prayer and the church can clear the voices and not a mental illness.
It is balance. Have you read your Bible enough where the word is embedded in your Spirit and there is no space for evil to enter. Do the movies give you nightmares? EVIL comes in when you invite it in. Never use ouigi boards or go to psychics, or get involved with horoscopes. If the movie is instructural and parents see the movie, also, then there is a purpose for seeing it. Our parish priest saw THE RITE and said that it was pretty factual. The Pope has opened a school for exorcism in Rome. HIS Goal IS AN EXORCIST IN EVERY diocese.
We are in troubled times. Pray earnestly for good to be more prevalent.

In life, here is a thought. Your Mom puts 2 plates of food on the table. One is your favorite BUT it has poison in it. The other is okay. It has no poison but your not fond of the meal. Which do you eat? What are you going to put into your body.? Those are your choices in life for the health of your body and soul.

There have been quite a few times where I’ve watched a horror movie that had me really rattled afterward, and then I think: “Well, Jesus is stronger than whatever could hurt me. I’ll be okay.” If anything, watching good horror movies strengthens my faith. Not true of all of them, certainly; but still.

Around my neck. I did not hang garlic at my window. The music built up ones’ fears. Take Harry Potter movies. We should compare the increase in the Wiccan cult with Harry Potter movies.
