Yes, that can happen if we do not allow the Lord to fill us with his Holy Spirit and follow Him earnestly.

When the place is empty, then others can enter.

It is better to take the clean road. I would want the plate with clean food. I doubt that horror movies can be bad spiritually in general though.
Hi,
I pray for you, this is true. I grew up on old vampire movies. Bela Lagosi, black and white, music scared you. No blood. My crucifix was around my neck and rosary in hand. No garlic at the window… I am not affected. Today, the blood, the gore, the real life horror situations made into movies. We had a member who was hearing voices to kill herself and other people. All she had done was watch horror movies. No occult. Yes, I feel she had mental issues.prayed my heart out. Informed senior member. Lifted her up a little. She hadn’t committed suicide on the date she set. She is not a member anymore. One never knows. Does your heart feel love and compassion everytime you see something sad or do you feel that homeless person is a burden on us.
In teenage, my daughter brought me her friend, speaking in the third person, gravely voice. They had to hold her down while I quoted scriptures over her and commanding demons to leave. Who am I? I was closer to God then. It was scary. After 15 min.she relaxed and became herself again. Was it a teenage acting thing? Was it real? It had a happy ending.
I’ll spare you other things in my life’s journey. RESPECT AND CONCERN AND COUNSEL WITH PARENTS AND PRIEST.

I was just thinking that if there are different kinds of angels and demons are fallen angels, then doesn’t it stand to reason that there are different kinds of demons.

I don’t know for certain if this is true and thought it would be a good pause for thought as there are a lot of people here who would know.

I would appreciate your thoughts.

Fourth Lateran Council: “Diabolus enim et alii daemones” (The devil and the other demons), i.e. all are demons, and the chief of the demons is called the devil. This distinction is observed in the Vulgate New Testament, where diabolus represents the Greek diabolos and in almost every instance refers to Satan himself, while his subordinate angels are described, in accordance with the Greek, as *daemones *or daemonia. This must not be taken, however, to indicate a difference of nature; for Satan is clearly included among the daemones in James 2:19 and in Luke 11:15-18.

Angels are not demons and Satan is not an evil angel. All angels are good who always obey God. Satan or demons are another kind of spirits which is called evil Jinn in Islam.

Jinn are physical but good and fallen angels are not.

You know that Lucifer (Satan) is an angel that fell, and there were many others also. That is what they are teaching there. The majority are not fallen.

Yes, Jinn, are something else, lower than angels, but above man.

From wikipedia
Jinn (Arabic: الجن‎, al-jinn), also romanized as djinn or anglicized as genies, are supernatural creatures in early Arabian and later Islamic mythology and theology. An individual member of the jinn is known as a jinni, djinni, or genie (الجني, al-jinnī). They are mentioned frequently in the Quran (the 72nd sura is titled Sūrat al-Jinn) and other Islamic texts and inhabit an unseen world, another universe beyond the known universe. The Quran says that the jinn are made of a smokeless and “scorching fire”,[1] but are also physical in nature, being able to interact in a tactile manner with people and objects and likewise be acted upon. The jinn, humans, and angels make up the three known sapient creations of God. Like human beings, the jinn can be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent and hence have free will like humans.[2] The shaytan jinn are akin to demons in Christian tradition, but the jinn are not angels and the Quran draws a clear distinction between the two creations. The Quran states in Sūrat al-Kahf (The Cave), Ayah 50,[3] that Iblis (Azazel) is one of the jinn.

Me too! - can someone elaborate about Jinn?
A quick search pointed out something about Arab mythology that was picked up by Islam.

I didn’t want to look to much up about all the ugliness I saw while I searched.

There are excellent teachings in our Church about the angels, their test, and then we have good angels, and rebellious angels.

Ah I see where Hasantas is coming from on this. According to Islam, Satan is a Jinn not a fallen angel. Strange…

"In Islamic theology jinn are said to be creatures with free will, made from smokeless fire by Allah as humans were made of clay, among other things. According to the Quran, jinn have free will, and Iblīs abused this freedom in front of Allah by refusing to bow to Adam when Allah ordered angels and jinn to do so. For disobeying Allah, Iblīs was expelled from Paradise and called “Shaytān” (Satan). "

The Fathers of the Church developed data taken from the Scriptures and furnished the material to the Scholastics for a definitive doctrinal systemization to which the magisterium of the church has contributed certain details (Lateran Council, DB, 428) The chief points of the Catholic doctrine on the devil are: (a) God created the angels, who are good by nature, but some sinned and deliberately became bad; (b) it is not the devil who created matter and bodies; (c) Satan and his followers were punished by God by being cast into Hell, whence they insidiously ensnare and persecute men, but only in so far as God permits; (d) the devils like all the angels, are pure spirits endowed with intellect and will; (e) the pure spirits were adorned with grace from the first instant of their creation: many fell into sin of pride and were lost irremediably because due to their spiritual nature, once they have made their free choice between good and evil they are immutable in their will and so without possibility of repentance; (f) the devil by sinning lost his supernatural gifts, but he retains his spiritual nature, rich in intelligence and in will tenaciously bent on evil; (g) the devils hate men who are destined to replace them in Heaven

It sounds like it can get a little complicated especially when beliefs are mixed up. Jinn sound like they have no place in Christian beliefs despite the similarity. Given that, do the Jewish people have the same view point on it as Christians on it or are there variations between the two religions there as well?

My grandmother used to talk about a belief in fairies and many people descended from Ireland also hold a firm belief in the existence of fairies. Is it possible that demons pose as these creatures (fairies, jinn ect. ) in order to lead people astray?

Demons can masquerade as anything, but the real easy way to tell is if it is contradicting scripture, or not recognizing the one true God, they can be very sneaky going about this too! If demons are trying to trick you into thinking it is something else, there is a reason for that, and they will not be giving praise to God, more than likely they will be telling you God does not really exist or some other lies

I assume there are lots of things God created but mankind does not really know about or understand them, (like fairies and other such things) Whatever they are, God created them and they are there for a reason, whether we believe it or not.

It does seem very old and mythological in origin, probably part of the folklore of Arabic peoples. Jinn were made from fire, and man from earth, but both have free will. Very interesting stuff, especially mixed with religion!

I can’t find any mention of them in Jewish culture, although they had the Golem and fiends like Lilith.

There is one translation of the Bible (in Arabic) where familiar spirits (such as Samuel’s ghost) were called Jinn.

If one believes something that isn’t true the devil will reinforce that belief with his angelic powers. eg. superstitions, esp, fortune telling, telekinesis and clairvoyance and ouija boards

From my experience, the devil gains a foot-hold in ones life by the use of ones own fears. My mother used to use all of those things when I was little so I have lots of experience by default lol, if you are afraid the demons are like nasty dogs that will only chase if you run.

Stand your ground, believe that God will protect you and they will back off.

The situation described sounds quite serious. I do believe that it was real.

wow, that sounded scary. I have experienced stuff like that too but it is so nice to know that God is always there when we call on Him. Nothing is greater than God.
