I think an extended period of full employment can have a profound impact. Tax revenue rises and demand for services will drop or open room to make tweaks that reduce the cost and abuse.
It would be wonderful if true. I think that particular guest predicted a revenue surplus for the first quarter. But I think it got questionable from there. I didn’t hear the whole thing. Wish I had.

What revenue increase? Mnuchin plead Congress to raise the debt ceiling earlier than scheduled because the Treasury was running out of money.

Can’t say because I don’t know. But even if there was a revenue increase, it wouldn’t necessarily eliminate the need for a debt ceiling increase.

Being appalled is like thoughts and prayers after a shooting…they mean nothing without action.
What action do you suggest we take? Or do you have “nothing” to offer other than thoughts and prayers as well?

I have lots of ideas, but I’m not going to spend time debating with someone who will come up with every excuse why it can’t be implemented because some hunter in Montana needs that weapon to protect himself from Apache Indians, wombats and MS-13 gang members.
When one denigrates potential respondents in advance, he’s not likely to be engaged in serious conversations by anyone.

But is Jagged wrong? I think not.
About what? He/she didn’t actually express a thought other than disdain for others. Do I think he/she is wrong in asserting that anyone who doesn’t agree with his/her (unstated) point of view is some kind of ridiculous person? Absolutely.

When one points out that the potential respondents aren’t interested in a serious conversation anyway, then he is simply telling the truth.
One doesn’t know unless one is receptive to hearing. If he’s not, then of course nobody is going to want to engage him.

There was an article the other day that revenues into the Treasury were increasing faster than expected owing to collections from expanded economic activity and the bringing in of cash from outside. Only one month of results so far.

All I’m seeing is hyperbole in your post. I too would love to see some constructive ideas to get behind.

You shouldn’t be afraid to see if your ideas stand up to basic scrutiny and logic.

I don’t think those from the gun lobby are looking to have a reasonable discussion, but rather want to sit back and poke holes in any idea. I’m not particularly interested in pursuing that path, because they are irrelevant for the discussion - any legislation that passes will be in spite of the gun lobby, not because it makes sense and they came around to supporting it.
tough noogies if you don’t like people poking holes in your proposed changes to civil rights. You are the one making the proposals and it should be able to stand up to scrutiny. You need to get over yourself on this aspect.

And it’s hardly the ‘gun lobby’ giving responses here. Claiming so is just deflecting on your part.

If you have good ideas, they will shine and be supported. Flawed ideas deserve to have the hot air let out.

steadfastly refused to make proposals
Because of lack of intestinal fortitude to defend your proposals?

Lack of intellectual ability to develop a proposal?

A personality type that simply enjoys divisive attacks on others while continuously and loudly complaining?

Jagged keeps ignoring g the common sense gun regulation that was ignored by the Dems, but supported by the NRA and implemented by a Republican DOJ: banning bump stocks.

He would rather keep (repeatedly and loudly) complaining about Republicans.

Right you seem afraid to share your great solutions here, that makes me question whether they are worth much.

You are playing with a strawman, that the gun lobby will thwart your good ideas. The gun lobby isn’t posting here, just concerned citizens likely not from your party.

If you aren’t willing to post your good ideas at reform, then just stop whinging.

He’s like the guy who says he has developed cold fusion in his garage…his idea never quite works out well.

or that we can run a combustion engine on H2O, but the evil oil/car industry has bought the patents and buried the technology.
