Diane, please be comforted by the words of Christ:
Matthew 9 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. Some men brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!” Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins…” Then he said to the paralytic, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” And the man got up and went home.
By the faith of his friends, the man was healed. And by the faith of others,we can also be healed. But God’s will is impossible for us to know. Whether the healing is physical or spiritual remains to be seen, but healing will occur according to prayer.
Merciful Father, we come before you in faith and love, praising and blessing Your name for the goodness which we have received. See the thankfulness in our hearts, for we exist because of Your Divine love. Lord, Diane and Joe have been tested mightily this past year. As the farmer waits after sowing, so You wait for our response to Your will. Hear our petitions, O Lord, as we also await the next revelation. We seek that Joe’s relationship with You is restored, bringing all of the blessings that accompany it. We seek strength for both of them, so that they will bear up in love throughout this entire ordeal. We ask this through our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen! Alleluia!
