Desperately worried for my son and his choices in life

If I may give you this quote from scripture which is on a ring that I wear Romans 8 v 28 “we know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purposes.” That is you.
If I may also. I have a friend who as a mother agonized over the very same thing that you are going through until she finally had to tell him that she would not be his safe house anymore , that it was time for him to take responsibility for himself and since he had taken money out of his grandmother’s wallet without her consent she called the police on her own son for his own good. In prison , through our intercessory prayer, he was not able to ‘run away’ from facing certain things and became open to a prison ministry team. He is out now, still rocky but definitely the ‘check’ he needed.
As a mother of a 20 y.o boy myself, I honor her difficult decision, not sure I could make it but what I do know is that if my son were a young adult staying at our house I would probably lay down a few common house rules as for any ‘tenant’ to include paying rent (whatever he could). I think this is a hard shift for parents to make to shift from treating them as children still living at home as opposed to an adult rooming in your house. Does that make sense?
 
Lord please hear my prayers for my son.Lord I no not what to ask for any longer except please keep him safe and guide him.You know my greatest fears Lord and I ask You would place Your healing hand upon this entire situation to bring my son safely through this part of his life to reach maturity safely and be a mature and responsible adult and father to his children.I pray You will keep him safe from harm Lord.He is making poor choices continually please guide him to open his heart and mind to Your will.Lord I place all my trust in You. Thankyou Lord for always heairng and answering my prayers.Amen

Guide his choices so that he will be responsible for his children as well as himself. Please bring Teresa and her husband peace, and help them to feel your Love at this stressful time. I ask this through the intercession of Your Most Holy Mother, Mary.

I just want to thank each one of you for your generosity of prayers and kind supportive words.You do nto know how much they mean to me.Life is tough right now but God is giving me strength to cope…some how even with tears galore. Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment to take my son to get help for his drink and anger issues.My son has been really good since the let down Monday night.Things have escalated at home in other respects and I am delaing with this alone.I am feeling so abandoned betrayed empty and lost and hurt and deeply sad…anxious too.I have had a lot to keep me busy but lack of sleep and worry and emotional upset doesn’t help.
TheRealJulianne thankyou for your advice and I have looked into Alanon and it definitely seems the right organisation to help and i am to contact them tomorrow also.

I am truly grateful to each of you for your prayers…they are keeping me going.
