May I ask what about Moses mother who was a Hebrew slave? god spoke directly to Moses for 40 years, did he not? Is God not our Father and Mother, are we not all his children? Does God not have a great plan for salvation for his children? Worship God, obey his laws and commandments. How much have you loved me?

Jesus said: Who is my brother sister mother? Jesus said: " All who believe in God’s word is my brother, sister, mother"! It was a “simple message” “simple answer” to understand. “All who believe in me, God’s word”! Do what He says! If we “truly Love” God then— obey his laws and commandments and leave the rest to God, trust in him.

God Bless Worship God
No, not necessary for salvation.
Jesus whole time on earth was about God! His gospels are all about God. Jesus was teaching God’s children to know God, how to serve God, what pleases God. God’s words to Jesus was witness and heard----“this is my son with whom I am well pleased”! Whom do you serve? Whom do you worship? Whom do you believe? Jesus worship only— one God period! Jesus did not come to change "one tittle of the commandments but added to, taking us to a higher understanding of living out the law!

Jesus was not obeying the laws of man, the system of government, or any organized group, but God! That is why He was crucified. was he not also? His woes were to whom the scholars of the law, scribes, Pharises, priest, lawyers the educated etc. You know the letter of the law, but you do not follow the letter. What is written. Jesus did not choose all his apostles who were educated did he? jesus came to re-teach us get us back on the right track. God’s word!

Just my thoughts of what is “necessary” for salvation–believe, baptism, repent, obey Worship God. Not with our words saying yes Lord Lord, but by are “actions” serve. Love all, obey God’s laws and his commandments,— Orphans, widows, poor, hungry the thirsty. Pray for all in your worship to God. Give thanks and praise.
To honour the mother and all is to serve God as they have---- is to Worship God---- the Father!

I love you all God Bless, boast of what we all have received and share the good news with all.

planter654;3507089:
“extra ecclesiam nulla salus”

Outside the church there is no salvation. This has been taught by the Church by so many Popes.

The truth does not depend on whether you agree with it or not.

Your “no” answer is not in line with the church.

Sorry, but you are in error.
Necessary for salvation No.
But I hope my no, is in line with God "first and all my Holy Family, for we are one body, one church (us) Jesus, Blessed Mother, Joseph etc. Worship God. to say Yes, is to call God a liar! Jesus did not suffer in vain. He was God’s word follow me!

When we say outside the church there is no salvation, are you saying God cannot save us? That the Church has authority over God? That God needs the church or is it us that do not need God? I always thought God who created all, was in need of nothing, don’t you think?

We believe that God created all things that are seen and unseen. God created Adam without woman, and woman came from man Adam, his rib…God created the sun, moon stars etc. We have no salvation outside the CC, Protestant, Muslim, Jew? I worship God in the CC. Were I choose to worship him. I love all! I pray for all!

Thereforth can we not say God is our “Father” and our “Mother” Did God not create Adam withouot woman, woman came from man—also? Did God not say in heaven there is no man, no woman, no Jew, no Greek etc.

All who believe in my word, is my brother, sister, mother! Jesus preach taught all about God!

All who believe, obey the laws and commandments and seek to do all that pleases our Father are all one Holy Family, God’s children. Only as a “little child” can we enter into the Kingdom of God for such as these is the Kingdom of God made. Little children can do or accomplish nothing without the Father, don’t you think?

God Bless---- Worship God

My, my, planter. Your posts read like one long Protestant sermon, complete with exclamations in funny and rhetorically inappropriate places. I say No! 😃

Seriously. We have heard much of what you say. Let us now hear from the Saints, Popes, and Doctors of the Church.
I am sorry I know nothing of the Prostestant faith, who or how they serve God. I have never been in a Protestant church.
God Bless love to all. I am not here on earth to argue with CC or Protestants, Muslims or Jew, but to serve God, ask, seek, knock, believe in God’s word. Serve.

Is that why they have opened the grave of Father Pio? And the other saints? Because they know? Said with no disrespect.
God Bless
What do the mortal remains of the saints have to do with the Assumption of the Blessed virgin?

The Church does know that she has been assumed into heaven and it is because of this certainty that we honour this declaration every January 1st.

They do? You said because “of this certainty”---- can you tell me were it is written, wittnesses, the testimoney of this truth? Where are the gospels on this, who wrote them? Is it also noted in Hebrew Bible? Who is the wittness and the apostle of this certainty? Where did she rise into Heaven, was it in Jersusalem? Why has the CC not built a shrine where she rose into Heaven? How old was Blessed Mary when this happen, how many years after Jesus?

Or did the Church not put it into The Bible? Certainty—I believe because the CC does not lie, God Bless CC for having received such certainty and proof from God !! Who was all present when this happen? Beautiful! Why was this keep secret? Why was it not put into the Bible?

God Bless

Because you said the CC knows all things, all truth about everything. Even with “all certainty” that Blessed Mother Mary rose into heaven. You must have proof a gospel written on this, or was it not put into the gospel the Bible, if not why?
God Bless

Pope Pius Xll declared it to be a dogma divinely revealed on Nov l 1950.

Yes I am on your side and you, and the others with you, have done a wonderful job in defending our Blessed Mother.

I am simply not understanding why some think accepting a “devotion” to Mary or that all graces pass through Her is not taught by the Church.
We all love our Dearest Mother!!
God Bless

Some of the greatest praises to Jesus we can do can be found in Matthew 25. When you were hungry you fed me… etc…
Honoring and loving Mary are integral to the faith. But perhaps living the Gospels and feeding the poor, etc… as “we can not be saved by faith alone.” What I mean is it may be far more vital to living God’s message by carrying out the Matthew 25 (the Gospel of Matthew)…
I agree God Bless and will we not honour Mother in doing this. When we honour our Dear Mother will not God be pleased also and Worship for doing so, all our Holy Family?

What is dogma? I am sorry I do not know what dogma is.
God Bless
Dogma = “a truth immediately (formally) revealed by God which has been proposed by the Teaching Authority of the Church to be believed as such.” (Dr. Ludwig Ott, *Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma, *Introdutctin).

Those things [which] are…contained in the word of God as found in Scripture and tradition, and which are proposed by the Church as matters to be believed as divinely revealed, whether by her solemn judgment or in her ordinary and universal magisterium.” [Vatican I, Session 3, 24 April 1870, ch. 3]

With regard to devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary being necessary for our salvation…Catholic theology describes “necessity” in two senses: 1) absolute, and 2) “most fitting.” I believe devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary is “necessary” in the second sense, not in the absolute sense.

St. Thomas Aquinas, for instance, doesn’t even describe the necessity of the Incarnation as “absolute.” He taught instead:
A thing is said to be necessary for a certain end in two ways
. First, when the end cannot be without it; as food is necessary for the preservation of human life. Secondly, when the end is attained better and more conveniently, as a horse is necessary for a journey. In the first way it was not necessary that God should become incarnate for the restoration of human nature. For God with His omnipotent power could have restored human nature in many other ways. But in the second way it was necessary that God should become incarnate for the restoration of human nature. Hence Augustine says (De Trin. xii, 10): “We shall also show that other ways were not wanting to God, to Whose power all things are equally subject; but that there was not a more fitting way of healing our misery.”

[St. Thomas Aquinas, *Summa Theologica, III, 1, 2]
Dogmas are lights on our path of faith. They have a binding character upon the intellect and heart of the faithful so as to come to a deeper understanding of God’s mystery. The teachings of the Church promulgated as “certain” (Latin sententia certa), but are not formally held or believed to be de fide teachings of the Church are also binding upon the faithful, but in a different way. [See Catechism of the Catholic Church - PART 1 SECTION 1 CHAPTER 2 ARTICLE 2”]Catechism of the Catholic Church, 85-95].

Obstinate denial or doubt of a dogma (de fide) teaching is a grave sin against faith. Obstinate denial or doubt regarding a doctrine (teaching which is “certain” but not “de fide”) is a **grave sin against charity. **If any grave sin is committed with full advertence and perfect consent, then it is a mortal sin. If one dies impenitent of mortal sin, they will not attain eternal salvation.

According to Dr. Ludwig Ott’s *Fundamentals of Catholic**Dogma, *the dogmas of the Church concerning Mary are as follows:
  • Christ was truly generated and born of a daughter of Adam, the Virgin Mary (Ott, 142)
  • Mary is truly the Mother of God (Ott, 196)
  • Mary was conceived without stain of Original sin (Ott, 199)
  • Mary conceived by the Holy Ghost without the co-operation of man (Ott, 204)
  • Mary bore her Son without any violation of her virginal integrity (Ott, 205)
  • Also after the Birth of Jesus Mary remained a Virgin (Ott, 206)
  • Mary was assumed body and soul into Heaven (Ott, 208)
According to Dr. Ludwig Ott’s *Fundamentals of Catholic**Dogma, *the “certain teachings” (Lat. sententia certa) or doctrines of the Church concerning Mary are as follows:
  • Mary gave the Redeemer, the Source of all graces, to the world, and in this way she is the channel of all graces (Ott. 212)
  • Mary, the Mother of God, is entitled to the Cult of Hyperdulia [Ott, 215 - **note: this means a special veneration is due to Mary; not de fide dogma, but sententia certa (binding doctrine)]
Nonetheless, explicit faith in all the teachings of the Church is not necessary for salvation in the “absolute sense.” According to Dr. Ludwig Ott, …
Theological faith, that is, a supernatural faith in Revelation, is necessary, and this is an effect of grace…As far as the content of this faith is concerned, according to Heb 11, 6, at least the existence of God and retribution in the other world must be firmly held…with explicit faith. In regard to the Trinity and the Incarnation, implicit faith suffices.
(Ott, 241)

Just so you are clear - this doesn’t mean you get to reject Dogmas because you don’t read them in the Bible. For instance, you are still bound de fide to believe in the Immaculate Conception and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin. It says “Scripture and tradition”, the latter of which I notice you conveniently left out.

ccc 970 It says that Marys function as mother of men in no way OBSECURES OR DIMINISHES this unique mediation of Christ but rather shows its power. This very special devotion DIFFERS essentially from the ADORATION which is given to the incarnate word and equally to the Father and the Holy Spirit and greatly fosters this adoration. unquote. By her Faith she is a model for the church. She is a Mother to us in the order or Grace. and is the Advocate, helper benefactress and Mediatrix. But it still all goes thru the POWER of Christ. It does not say anywhere in the church that you must go thru her to get to God. It says she can help us, but its not necessary for salvation. Just like the saints can help us. Of course Jesus will listen to his Mother, and Jesus Loves his Mother, But its up to us to go to her for that special Grace only she can help us get. But it is not a must, but in my opinion if you are a Catholic and understand how much she can help you, and how powerful her prayers can be, and you dont ask for help Well (then you are a fool). Its like you can walk to work or drive to work. But as long as you live by Gods commandments and Believe in him you will get there. But why take the hard way. thats the way i see it. Its additional Graces offered to us, but we must ask. And not all people understand and know that we can ask without insulting God. That it is okay. And beings that they dont know this, or dont have the Grace and Wisdom to understand this free gift how can it be held against them. Make any sense?

Not to change the topic on Oprah today a man is having a baby. Once was a woman, now a man married to a woman. He looks just like a man. I have to find this in the bible God mentions this and says----- " Who has ever heard of such a thing"----- this ““really scares me””"! Was on CNN also! When I find it in the bible I will quote it…ok
God Bless

Planter 654, not everthing that the Church teaches is found in scripture. Jesus told the apostles that he would send the Holy Spirit to instruct the Church. When the Pope speaks from the Chair of Peter he is speaking under the guidance of the Holy Sprit. His declaration is infallible.
The Assumption of Mary is one of these declarations. It is free from error. Mary, body and soul , ascended into heaven

*Munificentissimus Deus *
Apostolic Constitution of Pope Pius XII issued November 1, 1950
ewtn.com/library/PAPALDOC/P12MUNIF.HTM

“…Thus, from the universal agreement of the Church’s ordinary teaching authority we have a certain and firm proof, demonstrating that the Blessed Virgin Mary’s** bodily Assumption into heaven-** which surely no faculty of the human mind could know by its own natural powers, as far as the heavenly glorification of the virginal body of the loving Mother of God is concerned-is a truth that has been revealed by God and consequently something that** must be firmly and faithfully believed by all children of the Church. **

…by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and by our own authority, we pronounce, declare, and define it to be **a divinely revealed **dogma: that the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.
45. Hence if anyone, which God forbid, should dare willfully to **deny or to call into doubt **that which we have defined, let him know that he has fallen away completely from the divine and Catholic Faith.

47.** It is forbidden to any man to change this, our declaration**, pronouncement, and definition or, by rash attempt, to oppose and counter it. If any man should presume to make such an attempt, let him know that he will incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul. "
