The Catechism of the Catholic Church
We cannot fully understand all the teachings we just accept.
Jesus did not inherit original sin, Jesus the Christ was begotten of the Father, not created like Adam and Eve, He was from the beginning at the right hand of the Father, He came from the Father and the Holy Spirit, the three are one as the Trinity,His humanness came from Mary, a second Eve who was full of grace and blessed, mankind represented by the humanness is what was conquered on the cross the sin of disobedience, Jesus was totally obedient to the Father. This is the truth that the justice and mercy of God was lived and died and resurrected in the person of Jesus Christ for the salvation of man. Dessert
Hi
I would like to say something about the Inherited Sin, a Christian belief. Adam and eve did make a mistake in ignorance, but they never did it willfully and they were pardoned by GodAllahYHWH when they repented and asked forgiveness from GodAllahYHWH. Now to make it hereditary, in my opinion is stretching it too far.
Let us take for the sake of argument that Adam and Eve sinned literally as described in the Old Testament, and were duly punished. As the story goes, the punishment was handed out not only to them but to their entire offspring. Once that punishment was set and delivered, why was there the need for any other punishment at all? Once a sin has been punished, it is done with. Once a judgment has been passed, no one has the right to perpetually add more and more sentences.
In the case of Adam and Eve it is not only that they were severely scolded and if anything more than punished for the sin they had committed, but also the nature of the punishment which was extended to their offspring in itself is highly questionable. It may be termed a very atrocious violation of absolute justice. To be punished continuously for the sins of our forefathers is one thing but to be compelled to continue to sin as a consequence of oneâs forefatherâs error is simply not acceptable to the psyche of the current human beings in general; they would rather reject it on the very outset.
Let us get down to the hard realities of human experience and try to understand the Christian philosophy of crime and punishment in relation to our everyday experience. Let us suppose a judgment is passed against a criminal, which is far too strict and harsh in proportion to the crime committed. That could, of course, lead to loud and severe denunciation of such a gross unbalanced penalty by every rational man. In view of this, we find it very difficult to believe that the penalty imposed on Adam for his sin, came from a Just God. It is not just a case of an out of proportion penalty. It is a penalty, that according to the Christian understanding of Godâs conduct, outlived the life span of Adam and Eve and was extended generation after generation to their descendants. For the offspring to suffer for the punishment of their parents is actually an extension of the violation of justice beyond its ultimate limits. But we are not talking of that either. If we had the bad luck to observe a judgment passed by any present-day judge, making it compulsory for the children, grand children and great grand children, etc. of a criminal to be force by law to continue to sin and commit crimes and be punished accordingly till infinity then what would be the reaction of contemporary society, which has acquired a universal sense of justice through civilization?
Beside it is very much against the attribute of Justice ascribed to the Christian God the Father (just - Deut 32:4; Very strange that this is not the attribute of Son and the Spirit as per Martin Lutherâs Small Catechism). And if we accept the Christian common belief then even the Father does not remain Just. So, to me, this is a mistake of the Christian friends which needs correction.
Thanks
