Did anyone pray to find a spouse and have success?

I prayed the novena to St. Anne for my daughter to find a good husband. Within weeks she met her future husband. They were married nine months later and remain blissfully in love after six years and two children.
I prayed the same novena for my son. Again he found the perfect wife, to whom he is devoted.
Last I prayed for a friend who longed for a companion. She was in her forties. Well, you can guess that she did indeed find her love.
A young friend joked that before I pray a novena for her, she wants to travel a lot first and for me NOT to pray quite yet.
This novena is amazing. I would say it’s nothing short of miraculous!
Forgive me for being so forward, but is there anyway you would pray (that particular novena) for me, too? (My real name is Casey.)

I would be so, so grateful!

Whenever I hear stories about people praying for a spouse they never did as many prayers for it as I have done and still it is a disaster for me. I almost gave up this summer bc of what a joke it was and how I was getting treated, and how dysfunctional I am and they were a lot due to issues I’m healing from. Just when I had given up on marriage, I got an extremely clear message from the Lord on the feast of Anne and Joachim, when I wasn’t even asking for guidance, that I’m called to marriage and not celibacy and I should accept this. Fast forward a few weeks and a totally dysfunctional relationship w my friend whose company I enjoy more than anyone but who has very poor behavior (is the worlds biggest flake which I cannot abide I have severe abandonment issues…he just avoids people for weeks and goes to the woods…flakes on everyone
?) …anyway that relationship has grown more close and more excruciatingly painful. He gets to the center of me so all my past pain comes up. Not only is he this guy that just detaches from everything and avoids commitment but we met in a highly strange crisis situation and I was also infatuated with someone we both were close to and he was the “friend” that wasn’t even on my radar and he got hurt and is still hurt from that. I feel like he is still mad at me for that and like taking out his pain on me.

Why does this matter? Only because since Tuesday I have been hearing a quiet but persistent voice repeatedly telling me he is my husband. Apparently our friend I used to be infatuated with thought the whole time that he(the guy I like now) and I would end up together. Anotther guy I crushed on also commented on it after seeing our photo together and other people comment too.
I prayed over and over that if the voice is not from God, if my my own head or a demon, that it would shut up and go away. It won’t go away. I told my spiritual director and he just wants me to pray to abandon myself to God’s will and also ask Padre Pio. I asked God to remove the voice if it’s not from Him and remove my desire for marriage if not from Him and it won’t go away. I am not going to base my life on a voice but you can see why I’m annoyed. He also has said some weird hints about getting something similar and basically implies he’s just going to swim upstream and fight it as long as possible bc he doesn’t think he’s good enough for me. Aghhhhh.
I am so incredibly upset right now. Like yesterday he said would see me at this thing our friends do and then he didnt come. I was in this insane agony and cried all day my body was racked with pain. I am aware this is mostly a trigger from the past and 85% not his fault, and it gave me another healing breakthrough but how am i supposed to tolerate this situation Please pray that my situation works out. I’m doing the St. Anne novena right now. This person brings up every pain I have ever suffered. It actually heals the pain, too, which is good, but this is insane.
I have read enough psych books and seen enough therapists to get a phd but that doesn’t fix me. I am afraid I am going to have a call that I miss bc he won’t commit or that I will get married and it will be like this. Yet why do I want it still? For the record when he and i are together it is pure joy for both of us and attraction. The problem is him leaving.

I told the Lord whatever he wants I am willing. Even if the guy isn’t willing I am willing and abandon myself to his will. I have heard every advice in the book. Pls pray for me.

I am perfectly willing to pray the St. Anne prayers/novena for those who want me to. If possible message me your name and a little about you so I can visualize you when I pray. I have a home shrine for prayer. I guess if it’s worked before, it will again.

Erine, it sounds very painful. I can certainly relate to much of what you said and this behavior triggering abandonment issues. Please know I’ll be praying for you.

Hi Erine, I understand what you must be going through…been there myself. Don’t stop praying, the Lord is Merciful. I’ll pray for you this evening.

I’m interested in hearing any positive stories about finding your husband/wife after prayers, no matter how long it took.
I just want hope that my prayers can be answered if my vocation is marriage 🙂
My fiancee prayed the St Andrew’s novena one Advent to go on a date. She surprisingly had never been on a date before (surprisingly because she’s gorgeous), and that Christmas would be her first since graduating from college. She and I met one week later, and the week after that we had our first date. We’re going to be married in less than five weeks!

Also, I guess I sorta prayed for a wife. I was discerning for the priesthood, and was told by my spiritual adviser that I should go on five dates prior to applying for postulency for the congregation I was discerning with. I didn’t really want to, but I did it anyway to appease my spiritual adviser. I prayed to make sure that I wouldn’t find a wife! …And my fiancee was the fifth date.

I prayed for decades - then spent 6 weeks attending Mass every day to pray for God to remove my need for a husband. I met HIM two weeks later - the perfect, God selected man.

Why did God wait until I was ready to give up? God knows! I was 61 by then.
I’m praying for the same thing; to be at ease with the loneliness and to accept being alone for the rest of my life. If anyone has any specific prayers I can say regarding this, I’d be grateful to hear them.

Thank you kindly,
God bless,
Louise

This whole subject is painful, and honestly it is an embarrassment for a guy, and completely unmanly if he doesn’t ask the girl out first, and how can the girl really feel the guy is manly and protective of her if she has to ask him out? Yet, there are stories where girls actually initiate the courtship? Well, I am too busy right now to think about it. Maybe in the end it is really just God working in mysterious ways and there are exceptions to these maxims. I certainly don’t have the courage at this stage of my dysfunctional life to initiate a courtship on my own. Maybe God wants me to straighten out my life first and in the meantime just pray for a spouse, but in short, pray for spiritual peace as number one.

To all those that prayed, was all the partners that God guided you to all Strong Catholics??

Yes, he was Catholic, but not as fervent as he should be. He could never dream of belonging to any other church, as he considers all other churches to be phony. I became fervent after he brought me back into the church, and my influence is rubbing off onto him. 😃

I’m currently living in ChristChurch, New Zealand and wouldn’t mind finding a Good woman who may not be a devout Catholic, as long as she is good and accept’s my beliefs. Of course i would prefer a woman with a strong Catholic belief but it’s highly unlikely here and i also haven’t been the most devout myself in recent times if i’m being honest. I was wondering have other’s been led to partner’s like this, i just don’t think i should shut my attention away completely from non Catholic or lax Catholic women as that’s like 99% of women here lol

It is hard to find someone who is catholic and single; I’m the only person I know who is converting to Catholicism and is actively involved, all the other Catholics I know are lapsed and female. No clue how I would go about trying to meet a good catholic man here in England. Thankfully, I think I’m supposed to be alone so I try not to worry about it too much. I hope you find someone you can spend your life with soon.

I’ve grown to accept myself as a single person, I’m fine with it now, but the only problem is that other people seem to have a problem with me being single and I get questioned about it. Also a bit awkward if I go out with friends and they all bring their partners along and I’m on my own. My friends are all in relationships or getting married since we are all in our 20’s.
I actually prayed about it and God removed any desire from me to get married. Shame though other people think it’s so strange for me to be single.

I did. When I was about 25,I ask God to send me someone. Met my wife about 3 years later. Two years later, we were married. Have 3 sons and just had our 25th this year. I am catholic and my wife is not. She is not even baptized. But we made it and we are more in love now than when we were married.

I wish I could tell a success story about marriage or family life or something to that effect but God never answered my many prayers for a wife or even a brother or sister. God has answered my prayers for others but when it comes to things that would of made my own life more meaningful or happier or have someone close to talk to or help make decisions, I got side-swiped. I’m going on 59 started praying for a wife at the age of 15 and have gone through my life completely alone.

Stopped praying for a spouse in my mid 40’s …and don’t want one anymore, I won’t except anyone or someone at my age who has already been divorced and around the bush a few times (you know, bin there done that type of thing)

No thanks

I prayed for my husband from the time I was 24. We had family rosary every day and my family had numerous novena to our Lady. I finally met him at 29.

I from Asia and my marriage was arranged by our parents and we both did not know each other much before we got married. We had only talked a few times but I was not worried. At that time believed no matter how he was I will adjust to his lifestyle.

When we got married, we realized that only God could had got us together. We are happily married for the past 6 years but yet to be blessed with a child. In his good time, God will give us that blessing too.

Yes! In fact I think there was a thread on here a few years back for people to pray for a spouse and I asked to be added to the list so I guess other people were praying for me too 😃 Met him that year after 20 years of being single, married 3 years later.

Yes Gemma, I did pray for a long time…I first started in 7th grade at Catholic school. I was fascinated by St. Monica, that she prayed all that time for her son, St. Augustine. So I thought I’m going to pray that some day I meet a nice Catholic boy to marry. I was a homey looking bookworm of a girl and was very shy around boys. I went to an all girls high school where I did very well academically then on to a public University where I did alright…all the while praying for someone who could appreciate me for who I am and see my inner beauty. I prayed and prayed all through those years and just had faith that God had a plan for me and that if there was someone out there for me, we would meet. We finally did meet, through mutual, Catholic friends. At my first ‘real’ job I worked with a girl I had in some of my college classes. She was engaged to someone she went to high school with. He sometimes brought his friends along to my work functions and one of his friends was that nice Catholic boy I had been praying for. I knew he was the one for me immediately. We met when I was 24, dated for a year and got engaged and married when I was 26. We will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this Tuesday.

I was already sure that he was right for me…but after several years of being married I realized that after I took his last name in marriage, my three names together translated to “Star Mary Sea”…Mary Star of the Sea…

It was divinely meant to be.
