Does bowing the only way show your love and respect to your Creator?

We can bow and do all kind of things to show respect to our Lord, but we go out and look down on people, then what is the point?
There are ways to show our respect to Him, and there are things we don’t have to show off whatever we do.

Anyhow, what is up with the beard thing? 🙂

Can you post a link to a YouTube video or something that shows the Pope actually bowing and prostrating to the Lord during prayer and in public?

I have seen pictures of the previous Pope kneeling down and kissing the ground whenever he visits a different country but I do not recall seeing any Pope prostrating to the Lord during public prayer.
 
The fact that hamba2han essentially accuses the Holy Father (and most other Christians) of being like Satan has not escaped my notice. Hopefully the moderators will act on this flagrant breach of forum rules.
 
Actually I have a confession to make, I sometimes get on the ****…

Australian slang:Getting on the **** = Getting on alcoholic drinks such as beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages

Also:

Australian slang: having a **** = urinating.

So hamba, I do agree with you, alcohol (ie brandy) can be a good medicine, it has some good healing properties 👍

I feel that it would be even more appropriate for him to remove the cushion and instead place his face on the ground just like Jesus (pbuh) did according to the Bible.

Why don’t Christians want to do this noble act of prostration to the Lord a lot more frequently i.e. in their weekly prayers in their Churches?
 
Why don’t Mohammedans actually read the Bible and worship God in spirit and in truth instead of following the empty words of a deceiver? The world is full of such tricky questions ham.

Outward appearance is vain.

Its the heart and mind that requiresconversion to God. The rest (though requires respect) eventually is fodder for worms.

Only the Soul is eternal.

Jesus wore a beard only due to the custom of his ethnicity. Our customs are different.

Jesus came to save all.

Many do, but the posture during worship may vary from culture to culture. I believe the Eastern Christian Churches have more prostrations than the West. Many Catholics, East and West, employ prostration in their private prayer. Either way, it is not a necessary gauge of one’s devotion to God. What counts is the interior disposition, especially having a heart that is humble before God and man. Speaking of humility:

“Corn” was actually what English-speakers used to, and sometimes still do in the UK, call “grain”. What we call “corn” was “Indian corn” or “maize” (the French word for corn/grain, IIRC), for the longest time. It just evolved into being called just plain “corn” for some reason, and what was “corn” is now called “grain” to differentiate between the two. If someone’s already answered this, sorry, I haven’t yet finished the thread.

Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship God.”
The Jesus said, “Believe me woman, an hour is coming when you will worship neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem…
An hour is coming, and is already here, when authentic
worshippers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth.”

And I say to you that the hour is already here when
authentic worshippers worship with and without beards.
They worship sitting and standing and kneeling and bowing.
They treat the least person as they would treat Jesus
Himself, they worship in Spirit and in Truth

Corn is a generic word for any grain. The “corn” that came from America is known as “maize”.

Best thing you can do is come to Mass, we bow every Sunday at the Church I attend, we genuflect every time we enter the Church, the pews (entering and leaving)

We genuflect in front of the Tabernacle, the Priests kneels and bows after the Consecration, is that bowing enough ? and the Pope bows too.

In Mexico I believe that the people go up on their knees to receive the Body and Blood of Our Lord, so what were you saying about respect ?
