I appreciate that this may bother you but I can’t understand why.Cana is not difficult. I happen to find the other difficult but that is me.
I love this beautiful story as much as the one about Cana. I have momentarily lost my children in a mall or in a large store. I have also thought my kids were with my sister when they weren’t. It was not my fault and not my children’s fault. Fear grips the heart like nothing you can image. I look to Mary and I see a mother who can share my own emotions, love, fear and concern.
Here again, is a situation where the words of Jesus can be interpreted as flippant or caring. “Mom, I’m okay. Don’t worry.” Can be said sarcastically or with love.
My guess is that Jesus said these words with care and respect.
