U.S. deports Russian spy who posed as bank employee

The United States deported convicted spy Evgeny Buryakov to Russia Wednesday morning, CBS News’ Andres Triay reports.

Buryakov, 42, was sent to Russia on commercial flights, escorted by deportation officers and turned over to Russian authorities, U.S. Immigration and Customs and Enforcement (ICE) said in a news release Wednesday.

Buryakov worked in the U.S. for several years as an agent of Russia’s foreign intelligence agency, according to court documents and ICE. He operated under non-official cover – meaning he was in the U.S. as a private citizen – and posed as an employee in the New York office of Vnesheconombank, or VEB, a Russian bank.

Vnesheconombank, or VEB, a Russian bank is a state-owned Russian corporation formed in 2007 that is closely tied to the Russian government. Its chairman is appointed by the Russian president. The Russian prime minister is chairman of the bank supervisory board.
The bank has helped rescue financially troubled oligarchs and has financed infrastructure projects. The bank has been under US sanctions.

So the left now has its own Breitbart clone?

It was only a matter of time, I guess. It’s like journalism stepped into a time machine and got transported back to the 1890s “yellow journalism” era. Maybe people believed the news sources then, but they probably took it all with more than one grain of salt…as should we now.

Give us a hint: where is the information that anyone did anything that is actually illegal, aside from Flynn’s not registering as a foreign agent (which seems to have some bits missing in this article)? i have read half of it and haven’t seen anything illegal, except possibly the level of innuendo.
I don’t have a hint. The purpose is to show the connections. I’m not sure if legality is mentioned anywhere.

Yes, Maxine waters could get to the bottom of it. I bet she can prove this guy never wanted to defect and has been meeting secretly with Trump for years!
The Russian submarine captain is Korean! claims Waters 😃

Somebody should feed this to her team and it sure would be fun to see what she says publicly.

I bet we’ll find out Jack Ryan was in collusion with Trump and this Russian submarine commander!

From Breitbart to Sputnik
A former Breitbart reporter will host a radio show for the Russian government outlet.**
Lee Stranahan

A former Breitbart News writer is launching a radio show for Russian propaganda network Sputnik.

“I’m on the Russian payroll now, when you work at Sputnik you’re being paid by the Russians,” former Breitbart investigative reporter Lee Stranahan told me. “That’s what it is. I don’t have any qualms about it. Nothing about it really affects my position on stuff that I’ve had for years now.”

Stranahan’s new position is the latest twist in the increasingly atomized world of niche right-wing media, which has seen an increase in prominence and influence during the Trump era. It also reflects a realignment on the right towards Russia as the administration, led by an unusually Russia-receptive president, becomes increasingly entangled in a drip-drip of stories about Russian influence.

Their gig is up. They are agents of foreign power. Arrests will be made. The enormous complex network larger than Watergate has been in the making for decades

I don’t have a hint. The purpose is to show the connections. I’m not sure if legality is mentioned anywhere.
The poblem is that Congress is investigating illegal activities, not connections. Of course there are going to be connections. And of course it will look bad if you include only ine narrow set of connections.

It’s like the testimony. I read huge amounts of Comey’s testimony, and all that I read was

Q: Speculation, alarm, innundo and hypothetical situations?

A. I can’t discuss an ongoing investigation.

The result is an impression on the part of many that what was outlined in the questions is the testimony. This is an absurd situation for our country to be in: all our government time seems to be incredibly preoccupied with this: is anything else happening? What was the latest jobs report like? Where is the murder rate in Chicago? What about those rising gasoline taxes?

Remember when Ted Kennedy asked the Russians to ‘interfere’?

Kennedy’s message was simple. He proposed an unabashed quid pro quo. Kennedy would lend Andropov a hand in dealing with President Reagan. In return, the Soviet leader would lend the Democratic Party a hand in challenging Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. “The only real potential threats to Reagan are problems of war and peace and Soviet-American relations,” the memorandum stated. "These issues, according to the senator, will without a doubt become the most important of the election campaign."

**Teddy Kennedy asked the Russians to meddle in the 1984 campaign for the purpose of defeating Ronald Reagan, the man who would go on to defeat the Soviet Union and win the Cold War. The memorandum, which shows Kennedy’s efforts to derail Reagan’s attempt to build up our nuclear deterrent in Europe, received little or no attention until the publication of Paul Kengor’s book, The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism, in 2006.

C.I.A. Had Evidence of Russian Effort to Help Trump Earlier Than Believed
The C.I.A. told senior lawmakers in classified briefings last summer that it had information indicating that Russia was working to help elect Donald J. Trump president, a finding that did not emerge publicly until after Mr. Trump’s victory months later, former government officials say.
The briefings indicate that intelligence officials had evidence of Russia’s intentions to help Mr. Trump much earlier in the presidential campaign than previously thought. The briefings also reveal a critical split last summer between the C.I.A. and counterparts at the F.B.I., where a number of senior officials continued to believe through last fall that Russia’s cyberattacks were aimed only at disrupting America’s political system, and not at getting Mr. Trump elected, according to interviews.
The former officials said that in late August — 10 weeks before the election — John O. Brennan, then the C.I.A. director, was so concerned about increasing evidence of Russia’s election meddling that he began a series of urgent, individual briefings for eight top members of Congress, some of them on secure phone lines while they were on their summer break.
It is unclear what new intelligence might have prompted the classified briefings. But with concerns growing both internally and publicly at the time about a significant Russian breach of the Democratic National Committee, the C.I.A. began seeing signs of possible connections to the Trump campaign, the officials said. By the final weeks of the campaign, Congress and the intelligence agencies were racing to understand the scope of the Russia threat.

In an Aug. 25 briefing for Harry Reid, then the top Democrat in the Senate, Mr. Brennan indicated that Russia’s hackings appeared aimed at helping Mr. Trump win the November election, according to two former officials with knowledge of the briefing.
The officials said Mr. Brennan also indicated that unnamed advisers to Mr. Trump might be working with the Russians to interfere in the election. The F.B.I. and two congressional committees are now investigating that claim, focusing on possible communications and financial dealings between Russian affiliates and a handful of former advisers to Mr. Trump. So far, no proof of collusion has emerged publicly.

This article strikes me as a big nothing. The headline itself sounds an alarm over something fully expectable; that the FBI knew about the DNC hack a few days before it told Harry Reid about it. Big deal.

And it appears the C.I.A. director, an Obama appointee, and somebody-or-other (unnamed) in the FBI concluded that the DNC hacks a) were Russian despite the fact that, as we know, neither ever actually examined the DNC computer, but took the DNC’s word for it, and b) that it was surely designed to “help Trump” because the DNC information was given to Wikileaks whereas the information gained in the “Russian” hacks of the RNC were not. They have no idea what was offered to Wikileaks, including the DNC information. It ignores the possibility the RNC information was offered to Wikileaks, but there was nothing in the RNC hacks that was harmful to it or otherwise interesting.

And the article admits: " So far, no proof of collusion has emerged publicly." Nothing new in that. It hasn’t changed in all these months.

And more ridiculous of all, it cites as another basis for the “Russian connection” that Putin did it out of hate for Hillary Clinton. That is the most stupid assertion of all. People like Putin don’t act out of pique or even “hate”. They do what they think will best serve their cause.

If indeed Putin wanted Trump to win (for which there is no proof whatever) it’s more likely he didn’t want her throwing a bunch of bombs and missiles around in Syria like she did in Libya and perhaps create a crisis to which he would have to respond in kind if a bunch of Russians were killed when she did it.

No problem with that. Let the chips fall where they may, tho it seems rather far-fetched that Clinton would have interfered or coordinated with Putin in a way to harm her prospects of becoming president.

Since the investigation is early in the process, I imagine there will be a lot more coming out. Also, much of it is classified at this point and they cannot comment. For instance, revealing what they know might tip the Russians off to how they got that info, which they do not want to do, at least at this point. However, eventually we will know more of the complete story.

It took about two years for the Watergate investigation to yield enough evidence to be conclusive re the crime and cover-up by Nixon and associates. It seems the Russian-Trump thing will happen faster, maybe within a year, but maybe as long or longer than Watergate.

My continued hope is that Trump himself is innocent and that all parties that may have been working in coordination with the Putin regime this time (wittingly or unwittingly) are now out of gov positions or the ring of influence.

And hopefully this will be a very good lesson for Americans not to join forces with hostile foreign nations against our own government and society.

The FBI has already determined that Clinton [both Bill and Hillary Clinton] behaved illegally in accepting money from Russia.

jewishworldreview.com/0417/murdock040617.php3

The accusations against Trump have been circulated by Democrat insiders for months with nothing substantial … **EXCEPT to unveil that Democrat Susan Rice and Democrat Evelyn Farkas released highly classified material for political purposes AND maintained DETAILED SPREAD SHEETS in the White House of highly classified material for political purposes. ** None of the Federal investigative services determined that there was ANY FOREIGN influences on the Trump campaign employees. HOWEVER, Rice and Farkas pursued their own personal investigations that involved ONLY domestic political gossip.

These are clearly Federal felonies in violation of the Espionage Statutes … 18 CFR Section 1001. And Section 793.

Rice’s office was only a few feet from Obama’s office. It is highly likely that as she developed her detailed spread sheets using HIGHLY CLASSIFIED information, that President Obama was involved in reading and studying the data. Keep in mind that he supported Hillary Clinton for President and absolutely did not want Donald Trump to become president.

Expect further developments.

Given the amounts of money received by the Podesta brothers from Russia [from banks controlled by Putin personally], you can expect them to the be the next persons to be named.
