This thread is veering way off topic with this anatomical discussion. Please stay on point.

My post was inappropriate according to CAF rules and has been deleted. I certainly don’t want to violate my guest privileges and appreciate you answering my sincere question but it maybe best to hide or delete your response as I don’t want you to get in trouble either.
Thanks

and for most of them, their lives hardly revolve around sex. It doesn’t need to, because they are free to be sexually active as long as it isn’t hurting anyone.
You do realise you’ve contradicted yourself.
The gay people I know in relationships take those relationships as seriously as heterosexuals. They don’t live “lives of pleasure” as you describe it.
They take the relationship they are in at the moment seriously as long as the sex pleases them, but they continue to “shop around” anyway. Hardly a setup for a life long relationship.

But like I said it’s not easy convincing people living in this Sodom and Gomorrah society today that what they are doing is short term and leads to loneliness in their older years, until of course it happens to them.

Not at all. It is like the kid with the cookie jar. If the kid can get cookies whenever he wants, he is hardly pre-occupied with cookies. He doesn’t spend hours worrying about who else is getting cookies, or when he will have his next cookie. He doesn’t worry about worrying about cookies.

The kid who doesn’t have free access to the cookie jar, on the other hand, often spends a lot of time dealing with those issues. The same can be said with sex, for adults, of course.

Sorry, were you talking about heterosexuals or homosexuals then? As it applies to both it’s so difficult to tell.

Thank you. You’ve confirmed exactly what I stated about being gay.

Simply not true of those I know in serious relationships. Again, I am left wondering what kind of gay people you keep company with (or if you do).

Plenty of promiscuous heterosexual people around. We don’t need focus on only gay people, if that is the real issue you are concerned with.

Interesting. I was discussing neither gay or straight people, specifically. I was, however, discussing people here at CAF who seem so pre-occupied with all things sexual.

What could drive some to distort Scripture so?
14Therefore, beloved, since you await these things, be eager to be found without spot or blemish before him, at peace.15And consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, as our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, also wrote to you, m 16speaking of these things ***** as he does in all his letters. In them there are some things hard to understand that the ignorant and unstable distort to their own destruction, just as they do the other scriptures.

17Therefore, beloved, since you are forewarned, be on your guard not to be led into the error of the unprincipled and to fall from your own stability.

Jesus left the Church to help with the many parts of scripture that are hard to understand. That is why we have ONE Holy Catholic Apostolic Church and there are countless Protestant churches each doing their own interpretation.

Many people will search scripture to justify their sinful actions.
How many times have you heard of people justify a killing because somebody hit them and they turn around a shoot them and them quote: “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth” so they feel justified in what they did?

Many may think that they will be justified before God because they “studied” scripture. They asked the Holy Spirit to teach them. And since they have “asked”, they are now the sole arbitruars (spelling) of scripture so are are right before God. But Jesus warns us about not listening to the Church the Church HE founded.

Yes it is definitely hurting; two people are in danger of losing their souls FOREVER and that is hurting them.

It doesn’t apply at all to those who are living according to God’s will: one man + one woman, united in holy matrimony, living monogamously and in faithful chastity.
And for anyone who may not understand moral theology correctly, chastity is the virtue that is opposite to the deadly sin of lust.

Exactly right. They sin against God for their own part, and in the sin they elicit and abet in the other. It is a most unholy activity that can never be blessed by real, conjugal love.

Good analysis here, in the passage beginning with “Contemporary culture is filled with counterfeits to love”

Real quick I want to clarify- I am asking why the Lord teaches what he does through the church.
Thank you for the clarification because you did not say anything about ‘why the Lord teaches’ in your op and like I said dissidents always claim they do not agree with Church teaching implying that the Church made it up.
I am also of the opinion that dialoging about our doubts makes us better and more human arguers to those we seek to invite to the church.
Sure but if you’re proclaiming the Truths of Jesus and His Church then it’s a good idea to start off with the fact that these Truths are from Jesus. In any of these issues it eventually comes down to Authority so we might as well start there.

I recall an event on the West coast that is held every year. Public sexual behavior. One year, a decision was made to publish a gay version of the Last Supper as a poster. The beer company shown as a sponsor was boycotted.

Im sorry my original post was unclear. I think almost everyone on the thread so far agrees on what the infallible sources are. If there is a clear traditional consensus on this, an infallible defined dogma, or if the scripture indeed condemns it (as I feel it does) it seems like most of us would agree that means we shouldn’t say it’s ok. Even if not, we are still bound to obey canon law until it changes (if it is even possible for it to change).

My question is specifically asking for answers to this medium article
(The Bible does not condemn “homosexuality.” Seriously, it doesn’t. | by adam nicholas phillips | Medium) and about the pair of saints I mentioned. And i only ask became de having an answer would greatly strengthen our argument. And lighten the temptation to doubt (though ultimately the responsibility falls to us not t to dog by anyway) I think it’s a fair question but correct me if I’m wrong
