I didn’t see any abuse of God. Or if anything else, really (except maybe, my dislike for rap).Get worked up when God is abused!

Technically, you could set the words of Ave Maria, the psalms or other scripture verses to a rap beat. What ever happened to ave maria. This is sick! Give me a break you want this in church
And who decides what is “proper?” You? Me? The people who agree with you? The people who agree with me?You obviously don’t understand how serious this is. It is not a joke as some of you think. Being a Catholic is standing up for what is proper!
Ditto.God bless you all. I suppose that you have a different way of looking at life! One cannot be changed. Only almighty God can open your eyes, not this humble servant!
Let’s break this down.
Can you believe this is now the norm to make boastful rap videos filmed and recorded inside the church with the blessed sacrament inside. Boy have the times changed, a rapping monk paid to live as a monk to do these shenanigans with our tithes. Jesus help us!!,
Not rap, but I’ve heard some Christian black metal bands use the Psalms as a major inspiration for their lyrics, to the point of just quoting the Psalms. If I remember correctly, Antestor did that a lot in The Return of the Black Death, but it has been a long time since I listened to that album and many of the lyrics weren’t in English. It actually fit the music pretty well, if not the genre. Still, black metal is pretty much the last place you’d expect to hear the Psalms, but they made it work.Technically, you could set the words of Ave Maria, the psalms or other scripture verses to a rap beat.
@PureKathleen46 , it is not the norm .Can you believe this is now the norm
