The Diary has made me realise just how important it is to trust Jesus. How much souls that lack trust displease Him…and…there are so many passages in the Bible that tell us to ask with trust…I have found myself making plan B…’‘just in case’’. So now I make an effort to ask and trust… no plan B. It gets easier.

A priest once told me that his apostolat was succesful in relation to the amount of trust he had in God.

I think I am going to re-read the Diary after I read it through for the first time…there are passages that will grow in meaning with time.

👍 It’s what I’m doing these days.
If my first reading, a year ago, was amazing, this one is more…
A suggestion: Don’t hurry along, read only few pages everyday, in order to deepen and better assimilate. Practically your reading can fuel your prayer.
See you soon!

Its definately fueling my prayer…its a discovery because I have been reading spiritual works for many years but the Diary is very special… I think its because Jesus has so much to say and reveal to us…I feel I know God better after reading the diary.

I have been saying ‘‘Jesus , I trust in You’’ many many times a day…

I am going to try ‘’ Jesus, mercy ‘’ as was suggested in this thread.

I am embarrassed to say that I know very little of the devotions. But the way this thread has spoken of it, I will look into it. As far as the Jesus Prayer goes, that I do know a little about. From my understanding, it is not like Centering Prayer in that the formula is fairly strict and you’re not supposed to change it. I suppose one could, but I have enjoyed it for so long the way I have learned it, I don’t think I could change it. I enjoy it because it centers me, and uses the name of Jesus with every breath. I say it as I fall asleep at night, and try to begin using it in the morning. I wear a prayer rope around my wrist to remind me as St. Paul says, “to pray unceasingly.” Thank you all for sharing these devotions.
God Bless…
Thank you Cephas… as for looking into the Divine Mercy devotion… could someone suggest some good links ?

I absolutely love the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I have a 35 minute commute so I pray it on the way home. I have a recording of The Divine Mercy Chaplet in Song, which airs on EWTN. It is absolutely beautiful and makes it so easy to pray because you can’t help but sing along with it. I can’t pray at 3pm because I’m at work so I pray it when I can. And sometimes I pray it before bed. I find so much comfort in it. While I pray, I lift my petitions/worries/thanks to the Lord and when I’m done, I feel like a weight has been lifted!

And sometimes I pray it before bed. I find so much comfort in it. While I pray said:
Yes…I have prayed it before bed and had the same feeling… I open up and ask the Lord to make the changes that will make things better… then… as you said I have this feeling that a weight has been lifted…

Thank you,

In the Diary Jesus emphasizes He wants souls… wants us to pray for others…When in traffic… in crowds… I think of…<>…It feels good to pray for others when you know it pleases Jesus.

When I was a child, we were taught to pray for the souls in purgatory by the nuns who were our teachers in grade school… thats all coming back to me now…

What goes through your mind when you pray << for the whole world >> ?

Richard,
When I pray that God have mercy on the whole world, I think about my father, who did not reconcile with the Lord before he died (to the best of my knowledge). I pray for his soul because he was outspoken against the Church and I believe it’s because he lost trust in God as a young boy. Some here have posted that if you pray for someone like this then you are going against God. I’m not sure this is true because when he died, he was in a coma. As such, I remember seeing tears fall from his eyes (a few days before he died). Maybe he asked for forgiveness…I will never profess to know the state of his soul so I continue to pray for him.

I pray as well for all those souls who take the Church for granted; those that want to make it bend at the knee instead of bending at the knee themselves.

I think of those who have sat before and after mass and have forgotten that they are on holy ground.

I pray for those that blaspheme against Our Saviour. I pray for myself for all those years that I also spoke out against Him. I think about how little I have done to praise Him every moment of every day. I think about all the times my eyes have fallen upon those in need and I walk on by. I ask Him for mercy for all the times I feel no shame in sinning or in taking the time to go to confession.

These thoughts go through my head and I don’t know how I ever lived life without the Glory that my heart feels by adoring Him. ❤️

I thank Him for St. Faustina and also for casting His gaze upon me. :gopray:

Hi anniemart!

Even if no Catholic is obliged to believe in private revelations, nonetheless S.Faustina’s ones have been fully approved by the Church.
Well: for who believes in that (I strongly do) there is a Jesus’ promise tied up to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Since I have not the English text, I translate it from my language as I can:

In the time of death I will defend as My glory every soul who will recite this Chaplet, or if other people recite it near to a dying person they get the same forgiveness for the dying one. When this Chaplet is recited near to a dying person, the wrath of God calms down and the inscrutable Mercy envelops the soul. (paragraph 811).

Since my granddads died before I was born, recently I got the idea to recite this Chaplet for each of them.
When I was a child my mother taught me: “God lives in the Eternity, for Him all is present, so if you can’t do otherwise, pray God for everybody even though humanly speaking is too late.”
I did. It’s very personal, as all that I said, but I am sure I haven’t wasted my time.

I’m praying the little Baby Jesus near to my desktop computer for your dad.

All the best!
Aurelio

Greetings all,

Some questions about this devotion…

Has anyone a longtime devotion to the Sacred Heart ? Do you find the two devotions are complimentary ? How do you integrate the two ? Have you decided to embrace the Divine Mercy Devotion as Jesus’ wish and put aside the Sacred Heart Devotion ?

Do any practicioners of the Jesus Prayer tried using << Jesus I trust in You >> or << by the merits of his Sorrowful Passion… have mercy on us and the whole world.>> ?

I have always lived by Grignon de Montforts devotion to Mary… Do others go to Jesus as the Divine Mercy through the Immaculate Heart of Mary ?

For those who have read it… What has the <> of Sister Faustina meant to you spiritually ?

Do some recite the Divine Mercy chapelet every day ? more than once a day ?

Has anyone made efforts to promote the devotion ? even on a small scale.?

I am setting my cell alarm to ring at 3PM every day…has anyone been using this designated time of day ?

Anything about this devotion would be of interest.

I pray the Chaplet AT LEAST once a day, usually more. I pray it for many people INCLUDING those who will die in the next 24 hours. I had picked up the Diary several years ago and could not read it for the life of me, it was so dry, so I picked it up and forgot about it, and then about a year ago I picked it up again for some reason and COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN, I literally drank the words in that book, it moved me deeply. I try and pray everyday at 3pm, but I own a retail business and work in my business with my customers and not sit at a desk and let my workers deal with the people as some owners do (I own 3 Catholic stores), so it is often busy at 3pm so praying at that time is not always an option. I have shared with quite a few customers that my husband and I pray the Chaplet for those who will die in the next 24 hours and so I tell them that their loved one had been prayed for before they died and you would not believe how much comfort that brings them, especially in the case of a sudden death. God Bless.🙂

I became acquainted with the Divine Chaplet through EWTN. Totally overwhelmed me and still does. I find myself praying parts throughout the day. The Chaplet moves me tremendously. I have found out recently, through reading here and some there, that there are promises attached. That is fine but for me, it is what this prayer makes me think of - and that moves me totally and means the world to me. May God bless and be with those dying and those gone. And especially all of us no matter what stage of life or where we are at spiritually or physically or financially. May He have mercy on all of us…

-Peace-

In the Diary, Mary speaks occasionally… she says to meditate on the Passion of Her Son…So I looked on the net here and found…The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, by Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich…which I used to meditate on Christs Passion. I became deeply sorrowful for having abandoned Christ for long periods in my life…I asked for Mercy and the grace to never again abandon Christ again.

Have the words of Mary meant anything to others here ?

Oh my goodness…blesssings abound everywhere!

I read a small book by Van Conlon along the time I first learned about St. Faustina. I then loaned the book to someone that I really don’t see anymore…there is a story in there about Mr. Conlon that is incredibly moving. (As are all the stories there but this is his personal experience.)

He writes about being invited to St. Faustina’s canonization and a a mystical event that takes place involving Pope John Paul II. I wept for days with sheer joy over the story. I have often searched for the book but haven’t come across it anywhere. Now that there is a link I can go to, I’m sure I’ll be able to purchase it again. thanks so much for this link. 🙂 🙂 🙂
