Once again, I would request your generous feedback and prayers on a marriage in
severe crisis. After no communication for two months, I made an initial goodwill offer
to my spouse who is suing me for divorce. His cattle dog is the only thing in the marriage
that he values (he has left me and the Church behind).

I had a Church function and offered him visitation with the dog which meant allowing him
to enter the house and leave with the animal. Everything went pretty well. Seemed
appreciative, but in the same breath he has ignored discovery of assets by my attorney.
He has paid the mortgage, but has cut off all cash since the end of August. I invite
the Holy Spirit to counsel me and offer praise, honor and glory forever. My parish
family has been so warm and inviting to me - I honor them in this memo as well.

Retrouvaille? oh my gosh no-- long since past that. My husband was a convert and
could not full comply with the rules of the Church. He never once went to the sacrament
of Reconciliation - he told me he had SPECIAL permission to skip this. I also took him to a Marriage Encounter Weekend, and he ranted and raved for weeks after. He said it was an invasion of his privacy and would never subject himself again. He refused any
form of counseling. Said he did not believe in it. I tried and tried. He claims his life was
his own and I had no right to ask questions.

Church Solder: I value so much the prayers of CAF. It is so gratifying to know that
someone is lifting me up to the Lord. Bless you for your kindness.

**Holy Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
enlighten those who do not yet see truth,
give aid to all needing help,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace, console the lonely,
comfort the lost or hopeless, guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,
protect those in danger, guide us from evil;
may all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen. **

dear tuscany:

thank you for the lovely prayer to Our Lady - I join you in asking her for her intercession
this day. God bless you.

PS I especially pray for my estranged husband in the event he no longer prays for himself! Saint Faustina, pray for us. Now and at the hour of our death, we most
earnestly implore the Lord’s mercy.

tuscany - I thank you for the beautiful and most appropriate prayer. I will hold you in
my thoughts and intentions today. Have a beautiful Sunday.

Will remember you in my prayers at Mass this morning, Kaylynn.

Sometimes the greatest difficulty in carrying a cross, is to accept and submit to it, as is.

We all want avoid the suffering that comes in this life. Even Christ asked for the Cup to be removed. Yet, He still was willing to submit to the Father’s Will.

That is so hard. And so incredibly painful and painfilled.

God Bless.

Dear Marie: Thank you for your encouragement and prayer,. I know I have come a long
way in three months. It is directly and totally impacted by the prayer I have received here.
By myself, I could not have made it. It is actually very good that we don’t always know the
road ahead. Have a beautiful week, dear.

My suggestion is to give him his dog. Visitation? With his dog? This cannot help your relationship with him.

I will pray for you.

Dear Juliane: Yes, I realize the dog visit was a mistake. One dog out of two had just
died. He caught me in a weak and conciliatory moment. He is not allowed to have a
dog at his complex. As soon as I made this gesture, he turned venomous demanding
even more time with him. My attorney said no, and now he is really bearing down on
this drama all the more.

It is hard for me to remember that it was once love, but now it is all BUSINESS. He is not
the man I married. My pastor said " think of it as a bereavement–that person has died to
you". That’s how it feels since he has never checked once to see if I need any money
for household expenses. He is just NOT THERE anymore, and I must accept this. No
more dog visits (PERIOD).

Many thanks and bless you for your prayer.

Oh, that is a pity, that he cannot just have his dog. What I meant is that you should give him his dog. What if you give the dog to a relative of his, where he could have unlimited access to it?

He’s not abusive to animals is he? If he is, all bets are off, but if it were me, I’d not begrudge him his dog. I’d still be pursuing legal advice, but I’d just give the dog over, if it’s his.

Prayer Asking for the Intercession of Elisabeth Leseur, Servant of God

God, our Father, you fortified Your servant Elisabeth with admirable prudence and a profound interior life, so that she could bear witness to Christ before her husband and in the unbelieving world that surrounded her.
You gave her great meekness, making her capable of accepting her sufferings as an agreeable prayer to you.
We thank you, Father, for the gifts that You gave her, for the example she has given to the women of today, and for the benefits obtained in our family through her intercession.
We confidently beseech you that through her intercession you grant us the grace of saving a marriage that is in great trouble.
We also ask that, if it be Your will, the Church may recognize the holiness of Elisabeth’s life, for the glory of the Holy Trinity.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

~Holy Mary, Mother of God and Queen of Families, pray for us!~

I wanted to thank you for your prayers, from another thread. They are working and will continue to work as long as I stay with my program.

The only advice I can offer is to find a group of people who can help support you during this difficult time. It can be a church group, but it doesn’t have to be. And I am offering prayers for you as well.

Daisybee: Thank you for your heartfelt prayer. You are a sweetheart. I am so
gratified by the responses of this loving family. Last night I set the altar at our church
for 5:00pm Mass, and once again I thought of all those lovely thoughts and blessings
going upward to our Triune God. They are making me stronger day by day.

The Blessed Mother and all His holy saints are sending me hope and endurance. The
journey has gotten especially tough because he is refusing any monetary settlement.
There is a hardness of heart I do not recognize.

I give back to all of you blessings for your extreme goodness of thought and prayer.

Groo: Yes, my actual family are a 1,000 miles away, but my church family are near and
in my heart. I am retired so I can devote a good deal of time to our Bereavement Ministry.
Father told me that now I am one of the bereaved in spirit-- so everything is coming full
circle.

I will not forget your own intentions. This is a wonderful place to come for guidance,
consolation and praise to Our Lord.

I agree using the animal as a pawn is like using a child as a pawn in divorce. The animal has nothing to do with it so why punish the animal give him to the best home. Maybe having his dog would also soften his heart maybe not but as least an innocent life would no be in the middle of it.
