I love video games–I don’t play them every night (well I do play Nintendogs on my Nintendo DS every day as I have to feed my dogs or they’ll run away)
I am a 23 married female. My husband and I play some games together which I think is a great bonding experience as playing baseball together and talking is better than sitting next to each other and blankly staring at a TV!
We have a PS2, and GBA and my new Christmas present a Nintendo DS—
We are excited about PS3…

Guy
Online gamer, RTS gamer, and part-time FPS wannabe gamer

I play WoW, Starcraft, and Battlefield 2

just picked up Company of Heroes, Good Game
Finally, my sister has become hooked on the PC games based on Nancy Drew mysteries. Like a mystery movie or book, you go around to certain places collecting clues to solve a case. Using the mouse in a simple point and click to go here sort of manner, this game is also very simple. Puzzle solving skills are a must though, but it provides something that everybody in the family can help with. It limits which directions one can travel so unless you unintentionally open a package with a bomb, you can’t die really easily. Also, there isn’t any blood or gore in it which is a nice feature. You can also save your game whenever you want; thus, you can play it whenever you want to without worrying about the time.

Sincerely, GWofVA
Does anybody remember (played) “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego”? Great game, kinda like the Nancy Drew you just mentioned. Also, learned about different places around the world.

Wow! This thread is so amazing. My 23 yr. old college age son plays all the time. (yes, he’s an engineering student)…

Final Fantasy (he likes 6 and 7)…me, mom, thought 8 was cute. Let’s see if I can remember some names…

Mega man
Dragonball Z
Warcraft…all of it
Halo…all of it
San Andreas (not one of my favorites)
Resident Evil (don’t care for that one either)
All the Final Fantasy games…

He also writes on Fan Fiction…and likes “anime” (hope I spelled that correctly) and “mangas”…like Shonen Jump…

Oh, and he is “single”…a young Robert DiNiro…but kind of shy like Clark Kent… (hey, a mom is always looking around for a nice Catholic girl) 😉

Hello all,
As a young adult Catholic, I have been swept into the world of video games. Now, I assume that there are other guys who play games out there, but are there girls? I’m just curious and want to know if you play. Also, what do you, guys and girls, play. Name your system. And whether you play online or not.

Example: Guy; X-box; not online; Halo 2 (presently)

This is just a bare-bones example. But, if you want to talk about gaming, go ahead. If you want to talk about the lack of good games, or something else, go ahead. Just want a general idea, if you are out there. Thanks.

I am of the male persuasion. I have a PS2 , a Gamecube and a DS but have lost faith in Sony and am not too interested in PS3.

Currently playing:

Sword of Mana
God of War
Suikoden 3
Radiata Stories

I have the Xbox. Was looking forward to getting the Xbox 360 until Microsoft made the biggest marketing gaffe ever (with the possible exception of “New” Coke) by not making enough consoles available. I mean if you are trying to take over a market, you need make enough so that people can get them (but I’m rambling).
The PS3 release is going to make Microsoft look like they knew what they were doing.

I’m a girl, 23, and love playing WoW with my husband after we put our 2 kids down for bed. It’s great bonding time for us. At first he was just playing, but then I tried it just for fun and got hooked. 🙂

I’m a 20-year-old Catholic boy who has been playing video games since I was little. I had FamiCom, MegaDrive, Playstation, and Dreamcast. Now I’m a PC gamer. I must say, none of my gaming experiences, violent or not, had any effect on my faith and morals… Thank God! 😃

Yes, but I don’t play any M-rated ones. I figure I didn’t need that kind of stuff to entertain me as a kid, so why would I need it now?

I’m a guy, and I play video games. I will never play any “M” rated game, and I will never buy or rent games with immodesty, cussing, crude humor, etc…That kind of junk just isn’t needed to make a good game. I own a PS2 and a Nintendo 64.

I’ve actually been seriously considering getting rid of my PS2. The games can be addictive, and that’s not helping my spiritual life right now.

Young (at heart) Catholic Male here. (err, 36 year old actually:rolleyes: )

I play games instead of watch TV for entertainment.

Another World of Warcraft player here – played since launch.

I had quit for 4 months when our daughter was born this last June (our 2nd kid) but things settled down again so I am back. I can really only play after everyone is in bed or during nap time on the weekends.

During my WoW hiatus I got back into some shooters and really enjoyed Red Orchestra on PC (it is sold as “the most realistic World War 2 fps” and it really feels like it-- though it might be kind of slow for most FPS fans.) Finally played BF2 too – though it did not keep me in.

I used to play a lot more FPS game before I got into the MMOs (Star Wars Galaxies, then WoW). I do play console and handheld once in a while, but nothing holds my attention as long as a game as deep as an MMO. Recently played a little Company of Heroes and Age of Empires 3 as well.

Still playing WoW after 2 years… great fun 🙂

I play games on my DS - Animal Crossing, Pokemon Diamond, Brain Age 1 & 2, NintenDogs Most of the games I play are “E” rated except for THE SIMS 2 on the computer which is “T”.

I may have answered this post already, can’t remember. I’m a 22 year old female and yes I play video games (when i have the time). I do play some M rated games, well, I should say a certain series thats rated M. Silent Hill. It is a bit violent, but it doesn’t have cussing or sex in it. It scares the jeepers out of me which I love. I also love the riddles and puzzles in the games.
I personaly own a n64 and game cube. My prother has a ps1, ps2, ps3, and psp.
One of the best sereies of games in my opinion is Zelda. I always look forward to those games.
I’d like to get the nintendo wii if I can ever find one.

I’m a girl and I don’t play video games because they don’t really hold my attention for that long.

And most video games that I’ve seen are focused on repetative killing which I don’t like.

Still playing WoW after 2 years… great fun 🙂
I can admit to being tempted to start up WoW again – unfortunately every time I consider it I think of all the reading I have done since i quit and how much more i have still to do – many books gather dust on my shelf waiting for me :).

Also, last time I logged out i was about 2/3 of the way to 61 and i just cant see myself grinding up again–though i hear the next patch is supposed to make leveling faster.

I don’t know. I think I will wait until Bioware’s Knight’s of the Old Republic MMO if that rumor is true.
